On December 22nd, 2010, the concierge of the upscale Valencia Apartment building went to the first floor garbage room to search for a broom. When they tried to enter, the body of 24 year old Phoebe Handsjuk obstructed the door. She had fallen from the 12th floor garbage chute, through a heavy-duty compactor blade, to a slow death on the garbage room floor.
