Perth’s queen of Afro-Kreol, Grace Barbé, is a multi-award winning singer/songwriter whose live performances compel audiences to “shake their coconuts”! Grace is also a school music teacher and supports emerging artists through her record label, Afrotropik. She spoke to Em at SAE studios about her native Seychelles, song writing, how she approaches live performances, and how she came to have a track remixed by Afrobeat icon Tony Allen!

‘Seychelles islander Grace Barbé is the real deal, a genuinely exotic world music star for the 21st century, with the talent, looks and voice to match. Grace’s soulful music reflects and celebrates the diverse cultural influences of her Indian Ocean heritage’
