Frederick Douglass Statue was torn away on the anniversary of his great speech.One of the statues of one of the most greatest abolitionist, Frederick Douglass was torn away from its foundation in Rochester, New York on Sunday. It was exactly 168 years since the day he said the now famous speech, “What to a slave is the Fourth of July” The statue was located in Maplewood Park, this was one of the locations where the Underground Railroad used to be. Carvin Eison said the statue would be replaced. This follows after the death of George Floyd. Many teared down confederate statues, but trump keeps insisting that confederate statues is a part of history and should be protected.
