The key takeaways from Kim’s interview:

- Make sure to take some time to take care of yourself. Sometimes we’re so busy taking care of others that we forget to take care of ourselves.

- When you feel your energy shift, ask yourself 3 questions: What just happened? Why do I feel like this? And what can I do to get back to the wonderful state I was in?

- Use positive affirmations. Kim mentioned the app “Think Up” that lets you record your own affirmations for different parts of your life.

- Sometimes the more we talk about the things holding us back, the bigger it becomes in our life.

- When you’re not in a good state, use the HALT acronym to help you make adjustments. HALT stands for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired. While you’re in any of these states, you may not be able to make decisions that are in your best interest.

- Be yourself and don’t compare yourself to others.

- Adversity helps to shape the person we become.
