I was so excited when one of my favorite artists & the author of the interactive journal Draw Your Feelings, Rukmini Poddar said she’d come onto the podcast to share the backstory of this genius practice and new book that has been helping people connect with & process their emotions and therefore connect deeper with each other.

Rukmini Poddar is an artist, designer, and illustrator. Her creative passion lies at the intersection of emotional wellness and creative storytelling. She is also a 100 Day Project artist and author of the book 100 Days of Obscure Emotions.

In this episode Rukmini talks about how this whole project started with her participating in the global instagram challenge called the 100 day project for 9 years in a row. This led Rukmini building an online audience from 1000 or so followers to over 100k people connecting over her unique way of drawing obscure emotions. She started hosting interactive zoom classes and teaching people how to do this for themselves and now people everywhere can access dozens of prompts to work with to process & regulate their emotions.

We dove deep and spoke about:

The ebbs & flows of creativity and how to honor our seasons as people, first and foremost, but also as creatives and artists

Her favorite ways to navigate dealing with “the inner critic” in our head & tap into the wisdom of the body through creative expression

How to overcome the fear of success and put yourself aside to let your creative projects serve who they are meant to
