“You don't know the plays -- which is why you're not getting in the games!” That’s the voice of many a basketball coach -- some of them were talking to me, some to others. The thing is, in college and even high school sports, coaches don't slow down practice to teach a play to pne player who doesn't “get it.” The coach brusquely informs the player that he better learn it be next practice, or find a comfortable seat on the bench for the foreseeable future. The post-grad college world and business world are the same: when you don't know things and can't pick up on new stuff quickly, they leave you there for dead. You must learn, and learn quickly.
