Interviewer: Angharad Laing

Martin Barber, Special Advisor to OCHA on the World Humanitarian Summit, highlights how the changing humanitarian language – people centered approach and localization – affects how humanitarians think about the the relationship between affected communities and those providing assistance. He explains that why it was good not to discuss the humanitarian architecture at this #WHSummit, but that the implementation of ideas and commitments on the localization of humanitarian action would allow for more adequate discussions about necessary adjustments in the system later on.
