Setting the table may have been one of your childhood chores – especially on special occasions. After the Psalmists assures of God’s presence in the darkest and toughest of times, he then offers more Good News: the Lord prepares a table before us. Interestingly, we often think in terms of a “plate” being prepared for us. But God offers the entire table! Are you stuck in a valley place, when God is calling you to the blessing and bounty of higher ground? Are you arriving at the table with a small spiritual saucer …. or, a heart wide open and ready to receive?
