Yeah, we're the Washington football team.
0:04
That is right. We are the Washington
0:06
football team. We are number one in the
0:08
NFC East, and we are so wow. Brought
0:11
to you by Fresh Fine Wine. I'm
0:13
Jude Kenny, and joining me are my co host Stephanie.
0:15
To joke in Antonine Samuels, that
0:18
was coach rom Ribera answering the question that's
0:20
been asked off season. Who are we? What is our
0:22
identity? And he answered it very clearly. We are
0:24
the Washington football team. How are you? We
0:26
have an excite coming up today. We're
0:28
gonna discuss not number one, not number two,
0:30
non number three, but number four w
0:33
in a row for the Washington football team. Yeah,
0:35
and it's so exciting. Right, So, a four
0:37
game winning streak has not been done since twenty
0:40
sixteen. Plus coming up later, you're
0:42
definitely gonna want to listen to our wild
0:45
spotlight. We are going to be talking to Anita
0:47
at DeShawn Jon. She is a true
0:50
wow woman in every sense of the word. She
0:52
trains marines headed to the Middle
0:54
East on terrorism and she also runs
0:57
three wellness and anti aging practices
0:59
in DC. We joked about it,
1:02
but I never thought we would actually say
1:04
terrorism and botox in the same
1:06
soon. It's absolutely amazing interview. I'm
1:08
an amazing wine. You can't put her in a box.
1:10
That's not happening. She's
1:14
a rock star. Definitely hanging around for that. But
1:16
let's talk about this win the Washington football
1:18
team earned. I say that. I say that with
1:20
my chess. We earned that twenty
1:22
three to fifteen win over the forty nine ers.
1:24
Let's get right into it. Obviously, the while
1:26
was the defense. It was our defense,
1:29
and our standouts from the game were a Chase
1:31
Young, Mantes Sweat, and Cameron Curl.
1:34
And what's cool about what Chase is
1:36
Before the game, he's the team hype
1:39
man in the huddle after warmups, in
1:41
between plays. You can see him yelling
1:43
to fire up his teammates, going up and down
1:45
the sidelines when he's not playing. So
1:48
his demeanor and talent mixed together
1:50
is just fantastic. Yeah,
1:52
and results right, y'all know that I'm the data girl.
1:55
I can't help it, but literally the results
1:57
speak for themselves. Six tackles, a set,
1:59
two passes down defended, one
2:02
force fumble and two fumble recoveries,
2:04
and a touchdown. Like
2:06
seriously chases the first rookie
2:08
in NFL history and third overall to achieve
2:11
last game's accomplishment since nineteen and
2:13
ninety nine. That was my first year as
2:16
the first Lady of football. Back then, we were called
2:18
the redskin X That's how long ago. It was. So
2:20
just super excited. As you all can
2:22
probably hear in our voices, we are really hype.
2:24
We are just so excited for these
2:26
wins, for what we're seeing on that field.
2:30
And what's really exciting is we're talking about
2:32
rookies other than Sweat, but Cam
2:35
Curl is a seventh round pick. I mean,
2:37
these guys are playmakers
2:40
and they are good. And what I love about it most
2:43
is watching the press conference after
2:45
the interviews after the game and just seeing the chemistry
2:47
and the camaraderie. I mean, the guys are in the background
2:50
of every interview hypen up their man. I mean
2:52
you can really feel the team in the family, and
2:54
it's just fun to watch, Like it's been a long time. I've been
2:56
doing for six years. It's been
2:59
a long time since it's it's been fun to watch
3:02
Washington football and I feel it like this
3:04
team is special and it is different. And
3:06
what I also love seeing is our Washington
3:08
football team at social media. After
3:11
the game, I literally
3:13
just go to the Washington Football feed and
3:15
just keep refreshing it because
3:18
it is so fun to troll the other teams
3:20
because they hand it to them. The Sack
3:22
Brothers post with Sweat
3:25
and Chase young A playoffs Stepbrothers
3:28
Ship's Creek is one of my favorite shows of all time, so
3:30
I was constantly posting that.
3:32
I just you know, I love to see it. It's fun to be a part of
3:34
this franchise right now. But let's
3:36
look ahead. We have a huge game coming up, obviously
3:39
against the Seahawks. I'm hoping to make a number five
3:41
in a row against Russell Wilson. So what do
3:43
we gotta do. It's gonna be a big one. We
3:45
gotta do with the Giants did but better. We
3:48
need to make offensive touchdowns
3:51
in addition to our defensive ones.
3:53
As you know, we won from our defense side, so
3:55
we need to play strong on both sides. And
3:57
my positive thought that you were just talking about
3:59
are these young players we're showing
4:02
we are Washington football because
4:04
we're stepping up, whether it's a position
4:07
that there's an injury, you know, running back
4:09
or quarterback or one man like Terry
4:12
or Chase Young, our triple double
4:14
covered, there's another new formidable
4:16
player that is stepping up and doing
4:19
what they need to do. It's that there's no
4:21
I in team. We are Washington Football,
4:24
right and we are You're absolutely right. I feel like
4:26
we are playing together as a unit and for
4:29
one another. On our rally that we
4:31
had, Stephanie, I know you remember this, but on one of
4:33
our fans mentioned the fact that we're
4:35
just not out there playing football, and we're not just out there
4:37
playing against the other team. We are literally
4:39
playing for one another as a team,
4:41
as a unit. Coach Rivera said it
4:44
like we earned this, we earned
4:46
being number one, and we just have to make sure that
4:48
we continue doing the things that we've done to
4:50
get to where we are right now. So that's what we have to do
4:52
and I'm confident that it will happen. And
4:57
Ron Rivera said it as well. I'm coach said
4:59
we are that no man left behind mentality.
5:02
You know, when we see like in this game
5:04
last week, obviously when the offense was struggling,
5:07
our defense stepped up. So that is that is the mentality
5:09
of this team. Is It's like when someone is struggling, you help
5:11
them. But for this game against Russell Wilson,
5:14
we haven't seen a dynamic quarterback in a little bit, so
5:16
we're gonna need to have a complete
5:18
game in order to continue the streak.
5:21
So it's gonna be a fun one to watch. But the fun thing about
5:24
this is we control our destiny. It is in our hands
5:26
right now, and we can do it one game at a time. As
5:28
you mentioned here in the while, we'd like to give you access to the Washington
5:31
football team check out with Jeremy Sprinkle would
5:33
be doing if he wasn't playing football. Hey, y'all,
5:35

5:40
was just want that, as Jeremy Sprinkle,
5:44

5:46
been drafted in twenty seventeen
5:49

5:51
your career be if I wasn't playing
5:53
in NFL. Oh, I've

Welcome to well Spotlight. Joining us is Anita
7:34
Abdishahyan, whoa got
7:36
It co founder and practice director
7:38
of Devon Wellness. Anita co found
7:40
at Javon and Washington, DC in October of
7:42
twenty eighteen and has led Javon's expansion
7:44
to three stunning Yes, I've
7:46
been to all three of them locations.
7:49
She also works has worked twelve
7:51
years with an Apartment of Defense training marines
7:53
deploying to the Middle East. Anita is a
7:55
member of WILL and supports the wild community through
7:57
her company as well. Javon Wellness is
8:00
also sponsored the First Ladies of Football for two
8:02
seasons. Anita, Welcome to the WILL. Thank
8:05
you, Thank you so much for having me. I'm excited. I'm
8:09
thrilled to have you on here. You know, I'm a huge fan of
8:11
yours. You're such a mentor to a
8:14
lot of the First Ladies, and I'm sure a lot of women in
8:16
the area. But let's just kick
8:18
it off from the top. You have such a cool background.
8:20
Let's talk about your journey and how you ended
8:22
up where you are today. Okay,
8:24
sure, Well I was actually born in Iran.
8:27
I was raised I know a lot of people think it's funny I
8:29
was raised in Oklahoma, so there's like
8:31
a Persian cowgirl connection over here.
8:34
But I was raised in Oklahoma, and you know, I really
8:37
had the typical immigrants,
8:39
you know story. You know, my family didn't really come
8:41
with much. I was really mentored
8:44
by my own father. He really had
8:46
a dream, you know, to build the American dreams.
8:48
I really grew up with two completely
8:50
different backgrounds. I was raised in Oklahoma, but
8:52
I also went back to Iran pretty frequently,
8:55
and so I was between two completely different
8:57
cultures. And I think that kind of helped my ability
9:00
to be able to understand two sides of you
9:02
know, different stories. And so I took
9:05
that with me, especially whenever I
9:07
finally got into my DoD career
9:09
and training marines and whatnot. I always thought
9:11
that my personal background was really my biggest
9:13
strength, mainly because
9:15
you know, if I'm teaching marines on what life
9:18
was like on the other side, I felt like I
9:20
really had a pretty good advantage with my own personal
9:22
story. Yeah,
9:25
so talk a little bit about that though, so
9:28
DoD training of Marines deploying
9:31
to the Middle East. I definitely understand
9:33
the connection. I definitely can see how
9:35
and why you would be a perfect fit for that role.
9:38
But how did you even get into that role? Well,
9:40
so I knew in college I always wanted to
9:42
get into something security related. I
9:44
have a bachelor's in two master's degrees that
9:46
are pretty much focused on the Middle East
9:48
and the security environment, tearism
9:51
focused as well. And I
9:53
felt like there was always like this, you know,
9:55
this energy in me that kind of wanted
9:58
to get into something that was a little you
10:00
know, courageous. My parents
10:02
kind of thought that it was weird for you know, you
10:04
know, I'm a Persian, so they kind of have a
10:07
certain stereotype of what type of business
10:09
women get into. UM, but I
10:11
actually loved, you know, getting in the dirt. I
10:13
found out that there were some opportunities. I started
10:15
writing papers, I started trying
10:18
to publish a little bit about my knowledge of the
10:20
region. UM. I've worked in actually a
10:22
few different areas of THEDD, but of
10:24
course my last more recent
10:26
experience has been with the Marine Corps, and
10:29
you know, I always like that getting
10:31
in the dirt experience. And
10:33
so I will say this my former
10:36
experience professionally being with you
10:38
know, literally like nine percent
10:40
men, and then you know, jumping into something
10:43
like more metspah related being with only women.
10:45
It has been like two completely different worlds for
10:47
me. But I have to say that a lot of times
10:49
I do miss, you know, getting into
10:52
that, and um, I actually really embraced
10:54
it. I enjoyed it. I loved what I did.
10:56
I knew that I was kind of a unique person in
10:58
that environment, and I think that people really respected
11:01
the information that they got. That's
11:03
awesome. So how did you then take
11:06
this, I mean, such a great experience
11:08
with training, you know, marine Corps,
11:10
how did you then make that leap of faith to
11:13
go and open a business when you didn't
11:15
have business experience previously? Yeah,
11:18
I had no business experience. The only business
11:20
experience I had was watching my dad,
11:23
and Persians tend to run their business
11:25
is kind of crazy. So I don't know if that was like the best
11:27
example, because we tend to obsess over a lot
11:29
of things. But I had
11:31
no experience at all. My brother, who's a
11:33
physician, would call him doctor A.
11:36
He actually, you know, wanted to
11:38
start something that was a little bit different. He's a pain management
11:41
doctor. But I
11:43
knew that I was always, you know, into
11:46
receiving esthetic treatments, and
11:48
so we started this idea
11:51
in our business, Javan Wellness, really
11:53
from both a patient and a medical
11:56
provider's perspective. When
11:58
my brother came to me with this, yeah,
12:00
I immediately grabbed it and said, I want
12:02
to be a part of this because I'm such a
12:04
good recipient. I've been doing
12:06
laser hair removal. Like I'm Persian, so we get
12:08
hairy. I've been doing laser hair removal
12:11
since I was like fifteen. I'm
12:13
thirty six now, and you know, all the things
12:15
that I've done. I really tried to bring
12:17
my own experience of that into this practice
12:20
and really see it from a patient's perspective.
12:23
I think that helps a lot, especially because
12:25
you know in Oklahoma, you know, I'm a woman
12:27
of color too, and a lot of
12:30
the things, the treatments that I received, they really
12:32
weren't from me. Like I had my skin burned,
12:34
I had a number of issues because you know,
12:36
things were just not catered to my skin type.
12:38
So I said, you know, when I open a business,
12:40
I want to make sure that if it's for esthetic
12:42
treatments, that really anybody can get
12:45
treated. And so what I
12:47
actually did to prepare myself
12:49
to get into the business role, people think I'm crazy,
12:51
but I really studied the crap out a Wall
12:53
Street journal. I studied the crap
12:56
out of Forbes magazine. I knew I wasn't going
12:58
to be the medical provider of the clinicians in
13:00
any way, so the best thing that I could do
13:02
was be good at business. I
13:04
really wanted to learn how to treat staff.
13:06
I started reading all these different pointers
13:08
about, you know, the dudes and don'ts of being
13:11
a business owner and managing people. And
13:13
I'll be the you know, I'll tell you I'm not perfect,
13:16
that I am still learning every single
13:18
day. I make mistakes every
13:20
single day. In fact, I had a staff meeting last
13:22
week where I actually told them, Hey, these
13:24
were my mistakes that I made, and this is how
13:26
we're going to improve going forward. So
13:29
even though I did all the things that I
13:31
thought were right in studying and preparing,
13:34
I also accepted the fact that it wasn't
13:36
going to be perfect. And I think that's pretty
13:38
important. I
13:40
love that you said that. I think we talked about in here
13:42
all the time. But it's very important as
13:44
leaders to be vulnerable and to show
13:46
that you are human and you will make mistakes.
13:49
I think that's how I'm especially reliant to the watching
13:51
football team. That's especially how coach Ron Rivera
13:53
has really gotten this team to where they are this season
13:56
is owning those things and being transparent. Since
13:59
you studied so much, I want to ask you
14:01
have any advice for women that may
14:03
have interests in opening their own business or
14:06
just balancing relationships and family in general.
14:10
Yeah. Actually, and I have my
14:12
own advice, and I'll tell you other people have had
14:14
their advice and I've listened to their advice
14:17
and it didn't exactly work for me. So
14:20
one thing that I will say is that if you have a vision
14:22
for something, and it doesn't matter if you are just so
14:24
motivated by you know, you
14:27
want to be an esthetician or you're motivated
14:29
by making jewelry or whatever it is.
14:31
If you have a vision, there's going to be people discouraging
14:34
you from your vision. Like that's that's just flat
14:36
out something that's going to happen. Don't
14:39
let that you know, stop you from what you want
14:41
to do. If if you're the type of person who
14:43
will stay up all night like I did to
14:46
achieve a goal, I think that that says a lot
14:48
and you're going to be going places. The
14:50
advice that I received that I wasn't really
14:53
happy about because there's always this question
14:55
about how do you balance as a woman. You
14:57
know, we're expected to do a lot. I
14:59
mean, we've got a bunch of different responsibilities.
15:02
Especially you know, I don't have children yet, but if
15:04
you have children, there's a bunch of responsibilities
15:06
that come with that too. So can you
15:08
be the perfect mother, the perfect wife, the
15:10
perfect business owner, the perfect have
15:12
the perfect body, have the perfect face, all
15:14
this other stuff right? And everyone
15:17
that I spoke to kept giving me the mentality
15:20
of those things can all be achieved. And
15:22
you know, the reality of the situation is that
15:24
it's okay if that doesn't happen.
15:27
I've been hearing too much about people
15:30
saying you can do it all. Wake up
15:32
and get in front of the mirror and tell yourself
15:34
you're going to do everything today. Well,
15:37
the reality is that, first of all, I don't have
15:39
time to look in the mirror and talk to myself. Secondly,
15:42
I wake up and I look at
15:44
my list and I say, these are the things
15:46
that I have time to do today, and
15:49
there are a lot of things that I am not going
15:51
to get to. It is not realistic
15:53
to think that you can just be wonder
15:56
woman every day. It's okay if
15:58
you missed your workout, It's okay
16:00
if you you know, didn't get to make
16:02
dinner for your husband. There are
16:04
some things that you're going to have to sacrifice,
16:07
especially if you're going to be a business owner.
16:09
And in my case, you know, I always
16:11
wanted to grow my business, you know, move up,
16:13
do a lot more, and make sure that my business
16:15
was constantly growing. And if
16:18
you're constantly thinking about the future
16:20
and how to adapt and move forward, you're
16:22
not going to have time to do everything. And that's okay,
16:25
It's totally fine. We're all human. I
16:28
really do get upset sometimes whenever
16:30
I see the whole you know, giving
16:32
women unrealistic expectations,
16:35
because what if you don't do everything on your list
16:37
that day, what if you didn't get to the gym. You
16:39
can't beat yourself up about that. Those
16:42
things are to be expected if you're going to be successful
16:44
on one thing, you may have to sacrifice
16:46
a little bit and something else, and
16:49
having a good partner along the way is also
16:51
not a bad thing. My husband
16:54
is a saint. I think that I feel bad
16:56
for him a lot. I come home late from work.
16:58
I have When you have that, it's kind of like
17:00
you have babies and you constantly
17:03
have to deal with not only the professional
17:05
stuff that comes with having staff, but
17:07
also your staff as personal issues too that
17:09
you really have to, you know, kind of walk with
17:11
them a little bit on and be understanding to them.
17:14
I will say that, you know, I'm one of those believers
17:16
who thinks that, you know, men and women are different.
17:19
The way we think is very different. I
17:21
mean, I know that that gets into a political discussion,
17:23
but this is just my personal opinion. I think
17:25
we are different. I think that we get emotionally
17:28
attached. I think that we
17:30
process things and overanalyze. I'm
17:32
sure a lot of people can relate to that. But
17:35
what I will say is that
17:37
that's actually our advantage. The fact
17:39
that we do, you know, get emotional
17:41
about stuff. We can relate to our
17:43
staff better. We can be better managers.
17:46
We're very nitpicky about a lot of things.
17:49
If you've seen any of my locations, I've
17:51
designed every single one of them from top
17:53
to bottom. If I were to give my brother
17:55
the responsibility of designing this clinic,
17:58
it would look totally different. It
18:00
would look so dry. So I think that women
18:02
just have a way. You know,
18:05
emotions are good. Over analyzing things
18:07
are good. That's not to say that you know, there's no men
18:09
who do that, but I do think
18:11
that sometimes we do have some unique traits that may
18:13
work to our advantage as being businesswomen.
18:15
What you said about just giving yourself grace right,
18:18
because you know, I have mine to do lists
18:20
right here front and back. The
18:22
things are not checked off, there's
18:24
list to them like this, and
18:27
I get stressed out of me out I slipping,
18:30
but it's stresses And I think it's wonderful for you
18:33
to point out the fact that you have to give yourself grace.
18:35
And so we talk a lot on you know, our
18:37
show about you know, just picking two or three
18:39
things that you want to accomplish
18:42
that day. And so I love that you said that,
18:44
but kind of to take that step further, I know
18:46
one thing that sometimes we have trouble doing is
18:48
taking care of ourselves. So we're so busy
18:51
feeling everyone else's cups that we forget about
18:53
self care. We forget about going to wellness
18:56
and getting you know, just settling into ourselves
18:58
and treating ourselves. So why is that so
19:01
important for us as women to
19:03
do, to just take a time out for us,
19:06
you know, And that also goes back to the question
19:08
of what are you willing to sacrifice? Tough That's a question
19:11
I asked myself every morning. What are you willing to sacrifice
19:13
today? I would hope, And you know, I'm
19:15
guilty of this too. I may say some things,
19:17
but you know, I'm guilty of making mistakes. But
19:20
hopefully the things that you sacrifice were not the
19:22
things that you know help you take care of yourself,
19:24
because if you can't be mentally
19:27
physically there, then you're not going to
19:29
get to all those other things. You know. Sometimes I
19:31
realize that I've picked the wrong things on my to
19:34
do list to do and it's really
19:36
paralyzed my ability to do everything
19:38
else in life. And you really
19:40
have to pick and choose the things that make you,
19:42
know, you feel good, whether
19:45
that's calling your mom and having a conversation
19:47
with her, like my mom is on my to do list, every
19:49
single day. I don't always get to it, but I always
19:51
need to call my mom, my dad,
19:54
to my family, checking
19:56
in on people, and you'd be surprised
19:58
how much you know, just talking to someone
20:00
is also a part of self care. For
20:03
too long, I would say, the first year of me owning
20:05
a business, I did
20:08
everything so solo, and I kept everything
20:10
to myself. I had my stresses, and I
20:12
you know, I went to the gym pretty frequently.
20:14
I consider myself to be an avid gym goer.
20:17
But you know, you have to We're
20:19
human. You have to have interactions with people
20:21
that are not just business based, and
20:24
so it really is important for
20:26
you to take care of yourself mentally and
20:29
also physically too. Like I said,
20:31
try to pick the right things on your to do list. You won't
20:33
get to everything, but at the end of the day,
20:35
the next morning, the sun is still going to come up.
20:37
You have time to do something. So pick
20:40
one self care item on that list, right,
20:43
Yeah, Yeah, for me, it's always
20:45
botox. Job.
20:51
The other day about just the ironic
20:53
nature of like Marines terrorism
20:56
and say botox in the same sentence,
20:58
like how does that even happened? But it
21:00
happens with Anita listen.
21:04
The funnier thing that happens is having a
21:06
botox conversation with marines.
21:08
You'd be surprised how many of them get interested. How
21:11
that Anita
21:14
Ritually, our time is somehow coming to an end. But
21:16
before we let you go, we always ask to
21:19
our two questions on our show to our guests, and we want to
21:21
get to them so quickly. UM, can
21:23
you tell us what advice would you tell your
21:25
younger self if you had the chance. That's
21:28
a tough one. UM, I would
21:31
say, quit, you know, quit over
21:34
analyzing a lot of things. I know I said that
21:36
that was an advantage, but sometimes there's an
21:38
extreme to that. Do
21:41
do you I know that sounds super cliche,
21:43
but if you want to do something and other
21:46
people are swaying you, and you're constantly analyzing,
21:48
well what do they mean by that? You know? You know you
21:50
always want to think about other people's opinions,
21:53
Like I'm super guilty of that. I am
21:55
constantly thinking about what other people think
21:57
of me and what other people think about my
21:59
business. And I if I just have the confidence
22:02
in knowing that I know what I'm doing and
22:04
I've I've built something pretty nice and I
22:06
have success in it. If
22:09
I just you know, keep my confidence going, I
22:11
think that's pretty important. Sometimes we just
22:13
let other people's opinions sway as too much,
22:16
And like the the example that
22:18
I gave with a woman telling me you can do
22:20
it all, and every time I didn't do it, I would stress
22:22
out about it. So I think that you
22:24
know, you just kind of understanding your own process
22:26
is really important to
22:29
keep those blinders on and staying post
22:31
on it. Our
22:33
last thing is how do you motivate yourself daily? Is
22:35
there a ritual or something that you do. For me, it's waking
22:37
up and chucking coffee, say, anything
22:39
that you do offee is definitely
22:42
important. I
22:44
think that just kind of reaffirming what your
22:47
goals are is pretty important. That sounds
22:49
super cliche, and I'm not like one of these people
22:51
that is just trying to throw something for you know, women
22:53
to latch on some sort of a saying, but
22:56
it is important for you to kind of have your
22:58
goal in mind and if things
23:00
don't work out that day, sometimes you have to
23:02
have a really crappy day and those
23:04
things are to be expected for you
23:06
to get to the end result. If I know
23:08
that I'm opening another location, I know
23:11
that I'm going to have a lot of stress and headache
23:13
and people that I just probably don't want to deal
23:15
with for the next three or four or five
23:17
days, maybe even weeks until I
23:19
get to that point. So just kind of keep your goal in
23:21
mind and reaffirm those goals.
23:24
Such a good point, right, like having those
23:26
goals in the forefront of your mind and then the
23:28
why behind those goals, because then when
23:30
you have a not so great day, you're
23:33
like grounded in your why. Well, I'm doing this
23:35
for my family, I'm doing this to live a more fulfilled
23:37
life. I'm doing this for X y Z. And
23:40
that makes you know the bad days not seem so bad
23:42
because it's going to all be worth it when you eventually
23:44
get to that why. So perfect perfect advice

take that away from you. You have earned it, bro,
27:02
But you've put up for everything that we've had to deal with. You've
27:05
earned the right to be the first place. Then
27:10
who you are? Okay? Tell
27:13
you right now? Tell you right now, act
27:15
like it. Be professional, Understand
27:18
what it takes to be a professional and do
27:20
the professional thing. And understand
27:23
that nobody and I promise you nobody
27:25
wants to play who playoffs? Right
27:28
now? Doing things
27:30
right. I tell you to work, con
27:33
tell you to work, to do the things you need to do a guys, and
27:35
you give yourself an opportunity to be very very starika
27:39
point point now you go.
27:47
I have chills just listening to it again.
27:49
Um My, my, there's there's parts
27:52
of it that I had just like written down. I just
27:54
I just keep you living in my head. But my favorite thing that
27:56
he said is act like it. You
27:58
know, you're professionals, You've earned this us. Act
28:00
like it. Something that I
28:03
tell my cheerleaders and I just tell myself daily
28:05
is pressure is a privilege. So whenever I
28:07
get overwhelmed that I'm stressed out, like I've
28:10
earned the right to feel this way and I
28:12
have to now act upon that. And I love that coach
28:15
is chanting that to them, like, don't let anyone
28:17
say you're irrelevant. You were irrelevant, you were here, your
28:19
professionals, you're number one. Now let's act
28:21
like it. Yeah, that speech
28:23
is fantastic. I have to say. There was a
28:26
quote to be as a saying the best team has
28:28
a great sense of family. The best
28:30
family has a great sense of culture, and
28:33
within that culture is tremendous
28:35
character. And we touched on this in the
28:38
beginning about how this
28:40
change. You know, the players are coming
28:42
together, No I in team. When we
28:44
would go on tours with some of our Super Bowl
28:46
greats, that's what they would say, Ricky Sanders,
28:49
Mikenolmes, Reggie Branch, they
28:51
would say we were a team. It wasn't just one
28:53
player. We weren't you know, it wasn't the
28:55
individual And I feel like we're
28:57
coming back to that, which is so
28:59
amazing. And I can't wait for these
29:01
Super Bowl players to be super proud
29:04
of us, Like we're proud of our team right now for
29:07
sure, and that's the thing. And I feel like it's
29:09
you know, obviously within the team, but then that expands
29:12
out to the fans and to
29:14
the community, like because everyone is
29:16
excited about what we're seeing, we're excited
29:18
about what we're hearing, like having the inside
29:20
into that locker room and being able to hear what
29:22
Coach Rivera says to pump up the team then pumps
29:25
us up, and he keeps it real, like,
29:27
you know, hey, we're number one. No
29:29
one really wants to play us. We are the
29:31
team that people want to avoid. But don't let
29:33
it go to your head. Right, what have you done for
29:35
me lately? Is what you're saying, Janet.
29:39
You still have to stay professional and you still have to
29:41
stay focused. Right. We aren't this win, but we
29:43
have to do more work. And so that's
29:45
just how we should live every single day
29:47
of our life. Yes, let's pat ourselves on the back
29:49
for our accomplishments. But at the end of the day,
29:51
we have to keep it going because a
29:54
win is not guaranteed the next time, and so I just I
29:56
love it. I think it's good for you know, obviously
29:58
the team because it's working well, but it's good
30:00
for us to absolutely.
30:03
I mean I wake up just jazz for the
30:05
week and not just because we're winning. I mean, that's great, but
30:07
it's just like hearing coach Ron Rivera
30:10
say these things seen Chase Young FaceTime
30:12
and his mom after that victory. I mean, I'm just like
30:15
proud. I'm just I'm living in it. I'm just living
30:17
for it. I'm living in it. I also loved
30:19
of somebody else I wanted to comment on. It's
30:21
Chase Young commenting on Kobe Bryant
30:24
and this mom of mentality. You know, he thinks
30:26
to himself, Yeah, I'm proud of this, but like
30:28
what else, I needed to keep going. I put my head down and keep
30:31
working because I'm not satisfied. You know, that's just one
30:33
win and one milestone on the
30:35
path to what else I'm trying to accomplish,
30:38
and that is what we need to see. There are I
30:40
mean, there are some standout players. I mean, look at Terry
30:42
McLaurin. He hit a thousand yard
30:44
milestone in that game, and it's
30:46
just big, impactful things that are happening
30:48
with young players. But you're not that
30:50
we're not getting swept up in those little moments. But it's this whole,
30:53
full, well rounded team
30:55
that we're seeing and it's just all coming together. It's exactly
30:57
what coach Ron Riverasa was going to happen, and we're
31:00
seeing it right now. And I'm a believer,
31:04
Yes, me too, and it's so exciting. I mean, I can't
31:06
wait obviously for the next game in the next game after
31:09
that to see where this takes us. But it also just
31:11
gives us so much excitement and optimism for next
31:13
season as well. Like I know, we're still in this season and
31:15
we want to do our best now, but I mean,
31:17
I just have a very true
31:19
optimistic outlook, not a I'm
31:22
a diehard Burgundy and Gold fan trying to be
31:24
positive outlook because that's how I've been, yes,
31:29
but it's in my soul, like
31:31
excited about you know, what's to come. So
31:33
it's it's wonderful. It's a great feeling and it's wonderful
31:35
to be able to brag on your team.
31:39
I mean I wear my beanie proud. I like I
31:41
have the w beanie the winter half that all the
31:43
players are wearing on the syline. I'm just I'm
31:45
wearing that and wearing the mask and we're in the shirt. I'm
31:47
one of those people that are wearing more than one piece, which
31:49
we're not supposed to do apparently, but I'm wearing
31:51
it all proudly at the grocery store.
31:55
But we also before we wrap this up out, we want to
31:57
give a huge thank you to our while family. See
32:00
that we raised three hundred and twenty dollars
32:02
and for the mic calls Mike leet for the Wild cleet that will
32:04
go to the Women's HQ. So
32:07
that is a huge accomplishment and we want to
32:09
thank the Washington football team family
32:11
and the Wild members for sure. Yes,
32:16
coming up next week on the Wow, we have
32:18
the honor and privilege of chatting with Washington's
32:21
punter Trust Way. His wife
32:23
Brianna will be joining us. We're gonna learn more about
32:25
what holidays will look like this year in
32:27
their household, potentially with the playoff run
32:29
and during COVIDS. That's gonna be a really fun one, so don't
32:32
miss that that's coming out next week during the holidays.
32:34
Um, that's gonna do it for us. This is a fun one.

keeping life right. And
33:53
now time for a happy Honda Day's
33:55
clearance Highlight. The season had grown
33:57
cold and the roads were covered in ice.
34:00
Looking to capitalize on clearance pricing, Aby
34:02
went down to our local Honda dealer and test drove
34:04
the entire all wheel drive SUV lineup,
34:07
CRV, HRV, Passport
34:09
and more. In the end, Amy got a
34:11
clearance deal on a new pilot equipped with three
34:13
different driving modes. Boom,
34:15
maybe boom. Don't miss clearance
34:18
pricing at the Happy Honda Day sales event.
34:20
Now you're local Honda dealer, Fred,
34:23
this was so nice of us to share Maryland
34:25
Lottery scratch offs with our neighbors. Happy
34:28
holiday, Selena. What's this scratch
34:30
offs? Cool? Thanks? Your
34:33
tuba is a nice touch. Fred. Five
34:37
more neighbors to visit. What's
34:39
wrong your lips are
34:41
frozen to the tuba this
34:43
year? Multiply this year give holiday multiplier
34:46
scratch offs from Maryland Lottery. Top prize
34:48
one hundred thousand dollars. Please play
34:50
safely and responsibly this football
34:52
season. Prepare your taste buds for the most
34:55
iconic sports watching drink of all time, Betsy
34:57
with refreshing deliciousness, especially formula
35:00
to keep your eye on the ball and mouthwatering
35:02
fizziness to help you power through game day. Pepsi
35:04
has everything you need to start straw. I used
35:06
to care when Mike shared so hard he's pelt Nacho
35:09
cheese on my carpet. But thanks to Pepsi, even
35:11
Mike can't ruin my football party. So
35:14
this football season, make Pepsi your go
35:16
to game day drink because it's the only drink
35:19
made for football watching. Pepsy, that's
35:21
what I like.
