Hello, and welcome to the Wow connecting and

0:04

empowering women through Sports, brought to you by our

0:06

partners Fresh Fine Wine. I'm Jef

0:08

Kenny and joining me as always are my lovely

0:10

co host seven Jopian Jinny Samuel's.

0:12

Today we're in our Salute

0:15

to Service Washington shirts in

0:17

honor of our military servicemen and women.

0:20

Yeah, thank out. If you're to make sure

0:22

you're go to YouTube to see them.

0:24

Coming up in segment two, we have our home field

0:26

segment with Brandy Thomas, the wife of Washington's

0:29

Titan Logan Thomas. She is a former

0:31

college athlete, Mama five and they take care

0:33

of nineteen animals. I say it again, nineteen

0:35

animals. And if that doesn't sound like enough

0:38

to manage during quarantine, Brandy and Logan have decided

0:40

to take on a business endeavor. Stay tuned

0:42

to find out what that business is and how Brandy

0:44

handles it all. It may not be

0:46

a victory show here for the Washington football team,

0:48

but we need to take a second and celebrate and acknowledge

0:51

what a huge victory for women everywhere,

0:53

regardless of your political party. We

0:55

have elected not only the first female,

0:57

but the first minority Vice President,

1:00

Congrats to Kamala Harris, vice president

1:02

elect. We will discuss that monumental

1:04

moment for when is or it over time,

1:06

but we just got to keep them from the show off today with that, Yes,

1:09

congrats, congrats, congrats. All

1:13

right, now onto some more more psalms

1:15

to more somber news. The Washington football

1:17

team came out of a bye week. We were hoping they were going

1:19

to take control of the NFC East with a rematch

1:21

against the Giants. Unfortunately, with five

1:23

turnovers, which is not going to happen, they fell

1:25

short twenty three to twenty. Let's go ahead

1:28

and get into it. What was the woe of the game, Well,

1:31

you mentioned it the turnover, so that was my biggest

1:33

woe. We had a total of five, like you said,

1:35

two fumbles and three interceptions, and we're

1:37

just not going to be able to win games that way. So we've

1:39

got to figure out how to hold on

1:42

to the ball. Yeah, at our injuries,

1:44

right, Kyle Alan getting injured now undergoing

1:46

surgery. It's hard when you

1:48

lose your players. Let's

1:51

switch gears. What was our whiles mine

1:54

was the locker room and whatever Rivera said

1:56

to them, because where

1:59

they came out and scored right away and

2:01

played hard. Those looks two quarters. We

2:03

didn't win, but I need him to talk to them.

2:05

They need little mics constantly with him.

2:08

Yeah. Well, my personal while was actually

2:11

being there, so I was one of the lucky fans

2:13

to see everything in action, but unfortunately

2:15

it was like one let down after another.

2:18

But I would have to say I am excited

2:20

and very optimistic about our young team.

2:23

You know, we have about twenty five players that are

2:25

either in their first, second, or third year of professional

2:28

play, and even though we're not getting

2:30

the wins, we do have small

2:33

wins within each game, so

2:35

I do feel good about what's to come for the

2:37

Burgundy and Gold. We just got to get

2:39

it together, so we'll see what happens. Right My

2:43

while is Dustin Hopkins. He

2:45

struggle a little bit this season trying to find his

2:47

groove, and he had two field

2:49

goals for over forty yards, and I think

2:51

he needed that confidence that booster in this game.

2:53

That that way we can trust him longer down the second

2:55

half, the stretch of the second half the season to come in and

2:57

make those big plays. Okay, we gotta

3:00

scars. We have a big game coming up against

3:02

Detroit Lions and AP reunion.

3:04

What do we gotta do? I

3:07

would say for us, you know, the

3:09

Lions QB Matthew Stafford,

3:11

he's one of their best assets, and

3:13

so if we can limit his passing and keep

3:15

the pressure on him, we have a chance. But

3:18

as you mentioned, there's ap coming back.

3:20

Is he gonna want revenge? We're gonna

3:22

let him run down the middle like we did last

3:24

week, you know with the with the Giants, that's

3:26

not a good thing because he will get those yards and if he's

3:29

angry, we need to watch out. Yeah,

3:31

and he is gonna want revenge. Let's just be real

3:33

about this. I would want revenge. He's gonna

3:35

want revenge. And like you said,

3:37

against the guy the Giants, we literally

3:40

let um. We kept the midfield

3:42

wide open. We had one hundred and sixty

3:44

six. They had one hundred and sixty six rushing

3:46

yards against us. And if we're playing against

3:48

AP, our defense literally just has to step

3:51

up, and he's been the defense has to show up.

3:53

We did have, obviously, you know, some

3:55

some good plays by defense, but just not

3:57

like we need, you know, to go with gainst

4:00

the Lions and beat them. And we can beat them because their

4:02

record isn't that great. They're only three and five. But

4:05

if he has insight, he's been here, he's

4:07

worked, were there, So that's a little bit

4:09

scary too. That insight plus that revenge

4:11

could be will be tough. Yeah,

4:14

but I'm gonna be Dell's advocate and positive

4:16

Polly. I think. I

4:19

do think having a week with Alex

4:21

Smith getting the starting reps

4:24

is gonna help us. He's going to come out a little bit

4:26

more confident. He's I'm hoping he's gotten

4:28

the jitters out of cringing

4:30

every time someone always tackles him. So I'm

4:33

hoping and Terry said it best. This guy's a pro. He

4:35

trust him in situations like

4:37

this. So I think having a full week of practice with the starters

4:39

is definitely going to help us and get more comfortable

4:41

in the offense. And also, let's

4:43

give us some credit. The Lions have thirty

4:46

or thirtieth ranked defense. They struggle against

4:48

the rush. This is our chance run the ball. This

4:50

is our chance to get that ball back to a g and

4:52

to to show that we are a young team,

4:54

but we have a talent and we have all the goods

4:57

to make this a winning team in the future

4:59

years. To come. As we mentioned here in lotile,

5:01

I would like to give you access to the Washington football team.

out. Hey there, Ronald Derby, this is WILL

5:18

member Melissa and Arlington, and I

5:21

want to know what do you consider a fun date

5:23

Netflix? It said, I'm just planning. I'm gonna

5:26

take on. That's

5:29

a good question. Well, my girl,

5:31

if this is a little especially to night, you know, Dale

5:34

first goes out DC. I think it's

5:36

in northwest get

5:38

5:43

steak sauce on the side. Back

7:19

Welcome to the well home Field is brought to you

7:21

by Fresh Fine Wine. Sharing a glass with us

7:23

today is Brany Thomas, the wife of

7:25

Washington tight end Logan Thomas. Brany

7:28

is a former Division one athlete herself. She played

7:30

volleyball Ohio State and San Diego University,

7:33

as well as trained with an Olympic team. She

7:35

has passionate about photography, interior design,

7:37

and decorating, which has led her to her most recent

7:39

project. Her and Logan are currently in the

7:41

process of building a wedding venue in Virginia,

7:44

where they lived during the offseason and where Logan

7:46

grew up. Then you will provide everything

7:48

a couple will need at a lower price than usuals

7:50

way as their way of give you back to the community.

7:53

She is a mother of five boys ranging

7:55

from ages one to twelve, and if her hands aren't

7:57

already full, she raises nineteen animals.

8:00

Her family has moved all over the country, while

8:02

Logan has played for different teams in the Lake, but

8:04

they cannot be happier to call Washington home, and

8:06

either could we as it's three hours away

8:08

from their actual home. Brandy, welcome to the whole.

8:11

Nice thanks for having me. Yeah,

8:14

I'm fellow boy mom here, but not not

8:16

as many sons.

8:21

Still a lot of work getting

8:24

we're do you get right into that? How do you do it

8:26

all? I mean, that's a lot to take on. That is a full

8:28

house, especially during quarantine. How do you handle

8:31

all that right? Quarantine

8:33

has definitely made things

8:35

a little different. We were used to like our

8:37

noble season routine, and it

8:40

can be crazy, you know, moving around with your children,

8:42

and we had kind of like gotten into an awesome rhythm

8:45

and like knew how much stuff

8:47

to bring and pack the season, knew how much stuff

8:49

to get home to last us. And

8:51

then quarantine gets thrown in and

8:53

our kids are all doing virtual learning right now,

8:56

and we're all just kind of stuck in the home, and

8:59

so it could be trying sometimes,

9:01

you know, that's five boys. And luckily

9:04

my sister she just came in town. She

9:06

was out of a job because of quarantine, and she was

9:09

a teacher, and so we're like, well, come be their

9:11

tutor. Helped me out

9:13

a little bit and then from

9:15

midlife a hundred times easier. So her

9:18

being here has been wonderful.

9:21

Yeah, well, you know what they say, it takes a village,

9:23

and so it's amazing that you have that support

9:25

system to help out because you know, I've just

9:27

heard stories from mom talking to Stephanie a lot my

9:30

sisters. It's definitely a challenge.

9:32

And then on top of having to be

9:34

a teacher and a mom, you have nineteen

9:37

animals. Can you just share a little

9:39

bit about that. We

9:42

love animals, our whole family and

9:45

all of our boys do. And it started

9:47

with just I think our first would have been a

9:49

dog. We have two dogs,

9:51

two cats, a snake,

9:54

a bearded dragon, a bunny, six

9:56

chickens, three frogs, two

9:58

horses. Trying to think if

10:00

I'm missing anything, and all of those are with us right now,

10:02

except the two horses is the only thing that's

10:05

not here. There are other back

10:07

home where we live during off season in Virginia.

10:10

But we'll love animals so much

10:12

that once we even move on to our property

10:14

via fifty acres, I'm already positive

10:16

we're going to grow that number substantially.

10:21

That is so cool. So can you

10:23

talk about the vision behind the wedding

10:25

venue and you know how

10:27

you're mixing being an entrepreneur

10:30

in the middle of all of this as well. I

10:32

think it's so cool that has been

10:35

trying for sure, just because

10:38

COVID. Again, a lot

10:40

of my meetings are virtual. But years

10:42

ago, it's probably four years ago, we finally

10:44

decided, like, what's not going to be our after football

10:46

plan because we're both so passionate

10:49

about that, and Logan is passionate about

10:51

sharing that with guys on the team, Like, you know, you can't

10:53

just be done with football. You should set something up

10:55

so that you don't panic when you leave. The wedding

10:58

venue had come into my mind and so

11:00

we were like set on it. We both talked about

11:02

it and then in our heads it worked

11:04

out perfectly. But the hardest part

11:06

was fine in the land. We

11:09

searched for probably three years until

11:11

we found the exact land and we needed We knew

11:13

we wanted a beautiful view, and

11:16

our land ended up being it's on

11:18

fifty acres and you can see end the end of the entire

11:20

mountain range in Virginia where we live. It's

11:23

a beautiful and the crazy part is

11:25

when we went to find it, someone

11:28

sent us out to go look at a

11:30

fifteen acre property and we're

11:32

like, oh, that's too small, but we'll go look because they said it was

11:34

a pretty area. So we go check

11:36

it out and we're like, oh no, it's in

11:38

a neighborhood. And we turn it out and I'm like, let's

11:41

go right. It's so pretty over there, like look, how beautiful.

11:43

So we turn it right and we're driving and

11:46

I look over and I'm like, oh, my gosh, that's my dream

11:48

property right there, Like it is absolutely

11:51

stunning. And we go around the bend

11:53

and there's a sign out in front of the house that says

11:55

for sale, and we're like, no way.

12:00

And I was like, pull the car over and I called

12:02

right away. But it was for one hundred acres

12:04

and we knew him. We didn't want that much. And

12:07

part of the property had a house. So

12:09

I'm like, I'm gonna call right now, sitting in front

12:11

of the driveway and say, would you guys

12:13

consider splitting this in half? We would love

12:15

to half about the house on it, And

12:17

so I call. He answers, He's like, how did you guys

12:19

even see that that's for sale? And

12:22

we're like, oh, the sign he's like, we actually just

12:24

put that there today and it hasn't

12:26

even been listed online. And he goes,

12:28

but there's only one thing. Someone has already bought

12:30

half of it with the house. The only half that's

12:32

available is the half split out the house. Oh my gosh,

12:35

So I was like wet chills. It was. It was

12:38

gay chills. That

12:40

was definitely meant to be. That is

12:42

amazing. That's a wonderful story

12:45

to go with such an amazing venture that you

12:47

all are going on. It's so

12:49

cool. We just feel like

12:51

it was meant to be. Like, so do you share

12:53

that on the wedding venue? Say? Because you know you

12:55

want your wedding to have so much meaning and I just

12:58

know you're coming to the right place, say car, Yes,

13:01

that's definitely gonna be like a main part of our

13:03

everything that we put on there. And it's

13:06

beautiful though, and we're almost we're to the point

13:08

of um, it's fully designed

13:10

and ready. It's just we're going through all the permits.

13:12

There's so many things that you would never know that

13:15

you have to check out with all these people

13:18

to make sure this is okay, your driveway to the right

13:20

spot, this is okay. And then that's

13:22

like four months of permitting, so

13:24

we should be ready to break around hopefully

13:27

before this year's over, and then for spring

13:29

and summer we'll be open for weddings already.

13:31

So that's so cool. I can't

13:33

wait to follow all along time you

13:37

guys can get married there. I yesterday

13:40

and I was like, oh, well, in a couple of

13:42

years, I might be one of your first brides

13:45

coming down the beautiful. I'll have

13:47

to send me photos. It's like, um, looks

13:49

like nothing in Virginia. It's very very modern.

13:52

A lot of it was inspired by like Greece tofore,

13:55

Like all of my stuff is stucco and concrete,

13:58

and we've got like glass hallways. Whole

14:00

entire backroun our building is glass. We've

14:03

got we've got vines hanging

14:05

in their trees inside going through stairs, like

14:07

really cool. I

14:09

mean it's also going to be outside the wedding venue.

14:12

It's also going to be a winery where people can

14:14

come in and do wine tastings instead of oh yeah,

14:17

pretty great. Um.

14:22

So I obviously here

14:24

in the wall, we have a ton of female

14:27

listeners that come to the Wow for advice

14:30

for a community, a tribe, for a place to

14:32

kind of grow from each other and find strength. You

14:35

have such a beautiful story and

14:38

a very colorful background of everything that you're

14:40

into and just researching and things that you

14:42

and Logan to have been through. I saw that

14:45

you, unfortunately have been You've grieved

14:47

the loss of a child, and I think that's something that our

14:49

listeners someone might need to hear or

14:51

could relate to. If you feel comfortable, can

14:54

you share with us how

14:56

you found strength in such a tragic

14:58

time and just a dice for

15:00

mothers that might be going through something similar. It

15:03

was definitely the hardest thing that we have

15:05

ever gone through as a family in a hole

15:09

and just in that moment, you just

15:11

are just trying to go through your brain

15:13

and like why, why us? Why is this happening,

15:16

and just trying to What helped

15:19

us was the amount of people who reached

15:21

out to us was amazing.

15:23

I've gotten I've never received that many

15:25

messages, DMS, messages on Facebook,

15:27

girls reaching out from all over they've

15:30

had it happened to them, and it makes you feel like,

15:32

Okay, I'm not alone in that instance,

15:34

So that does make you feel better. But

15:36

the number one thing I would say that

15:38

helped us was after

15:41

that happened, we were scared to get pregnant again. I was

15:43

scared to be pregnant. I was scared to deliver

15:46

everything. So that whole pregnancy I was nervous.

15:49

But then the second that we had

15:51

the baby, after we had lost her,

15:54

it's like, and I know

15:56

it's a horrible thing that we lost her, but in that

15:58

moment, it's like everything made sense because

16:01

he was meant to be here. Like every

16:04

other week we will look at each other and be like, like,

16:06

we just know why, Like it happened, like because

16:09

he never we never would have had Devin, and he is

16:11

just, oh my gosh, the light of our family is.

16:14

And so you have to tell yourself at

16:16

that moment it might not make sense, but just

16:19

understand that there's something else in the works,

16:22

you know, for your life. And then in a

16:24

couple of years, all of it will just come together and

16:26

make sense and it really will be. We still

16:28

get it. We're still sad about it, but you have a

16:30

feeling of peace of just knowing that there

16:32

was a reason and you will

16:34

be okay and your family will be okay. Well,

16:37

thank you for sharing that. I mean, I think that sometimes

16:40

when you are going through something. You

16:42

don't remember that there's a reason behind

16:45

everything, and there sunshine at the

16:47

end of the tunnel, but you have to keep moving

16:49

that way in order to get to that sunshine. So

16:51

you're right in that moment. In the very beginning,

16:53

especially, it is hard to make yourself remember

16:56

like there's a reason for this, there's a

16:58

reason, because you're just still in that that grieving

17:00

state. But it comes. The

17:02

reason comes. Yeah. And

17:05

then so talk a little bit because it seems

17:07

like obviously that you all are a very close knit

17:09

family. You and Logan seem to do a lot

17:11

together. You're planning this new venture

17:13

together. What if you can

17:16

share, because we always love the inside, what

17:18

has been the most challenging part

17:21

of being married to him, you know, an NFL

17:23

player? And then what has been the most rewarding

17:25

other than your children, of course, because we know that that's

17:28

probably top top on your list.

17:32

Challenging wouldn't even be him,

17:34

it's just his job. A

17:37

lot of people think Sootball has done,

17:40

but well, first of all, they don't even know what the guys work week is

17:42

life and how many hours they're gone during the day,

17:44

and that they don't don't get a day after them, even on

17:46

a Tuesday, he's in there doing rehab. And

17:49

then they think when off season hits

17:51

that people are taking vacations

17:53

and doing all this fun stuff, and I'm like, no,

17:56

Like he gets home, he takes like the smallest

17:58

amount of time off, then back to full time

18:00

training every day, and then when April

18:02

hits, they are gone. They're

18:05

back to training camp. And I don't think people understand that

18:07

that That's my hardest time of our entire

18:09

year would be April to

18:11

June to mid June, where they're

18:13

at training camp and we don't go with them. We stay home.

18:16

So I'm just stay at home mom with five kids,

18:18

and that's fun

18:22

trying. That's definitely

18:25

the toughest part. The

18:27

most rewarding, I would say, is just we

18:29

have had the opportunity to make so many

18:31

amazing memories with our families traveling.

18:35

Like I know, if he didn't have this job, we would not

18:37

have lived in all these different states. And my kids

18:39

have swam with manates, They've rowed

18:41

an elephant in the water, they've done indoor

18:44

skydiving, they've I mean, they

18:46

could go on and on and on, and they have just

18:48

seen so many cool things in the world, and

18:50

me and Logan are like, do you understand, like you're

18:52

doing all this cool stuff, and you guys are all

18:55

under twelve, like they just don't even grasp

18:57

yet just a cool life they've

18:59

lived. And so it just makes

19:01

me happy that we have all these family memories

19:04

to look back on and share someday like

19:06

with their grandchildren, our grandchildren and

19:08

their kids. Yeah, and I love

19:10

that you brought that up, because people, even like

19:12

as we two of us

19:14

professional dancers, and Stephanie,

19:17

our coach, who was also a professional

19:19

dancer, they don't realize the hard work behind

19:21

the pomp pomps, just like the average

19:23

person doesn't realize all of the hard work year

19:25

round behind the football. So I'm really glad

19:27

that you shared that. Definitely.

19:30

So we are going to be asking our

19:34

guests two questions from

19:36

every show from now on. So one of

19:38

these is going to be what

19:41

would you say to your younger self if

19:43

you had the chance. My

19:46

younger self would just be just a slow

19:49

down and just live in the moment of every

19:52

day. You know, it's

19:54

so easy, especially now, even

19:56

for people who are the age I was when I was younger,

19:58

to get so wrapped up social media and

20:01

comparing your life to this life and wanting

20:03

to be like this person. And I would just say, don't

20:05

want to be like anybody who you are

20:08

and life is so much happier and smoothing

20:10

it that way, and be around the people

20:13

you love and the friends you love and your

20:16

life. Your life will be a hundred times happier

20:18

that way. I mean, God made every single

20:20

person, so you are who you are for

20:22

a reason. You don't need to be like anybody else. Completely

20:26

look grating all this stuff. Also,

20:30

we want to ask what are your daily rituals that

20:33

keep you motivated? I mean, obviously you have a lot going

20:35

on your household every day. What do you do every day

20:37

that for you or gets you set up for the day. I

20:40

have to wake up and have a coffee, but it's

20:43

like I'm a zombie walking right to the coffee machine

20:45

and it's like a just straight to it out of the bed.

20:48

I will say. In our house, what

20:51

keeps us going is we don't have too

20:53

crazy of a routine. So that

20:55

works for us with five boys where we

20:58

have time set up where they're doing like the rtual

21:00

lessons like two of mine. Right now, we're on a virtual

21:02

class downstairs. But other than that,

21:05

I think in big families, my thing

21:07

to tell them is have less of a routine

21:09

because then it puts less stress on your shoulders.

21:12

You know what I'm saying. So get the things then you

21:14

need to get done during the day, but don't put too much

21:16

weight on your own shoulders. Let yourself

21:18

be be like, Okay, I can get these couple things

21:21

done today, but then if you try to add on ten more,

21:23

you're just gonna be swamped and then overwhelmed

21:25

for the day. So we're more of a go

21:28

with the flow, just kind of go

21:31

with the flow kind of day. That's what works in our house.

21:33

That really resonates with me with my

21:36

two boys. I do sometimes feel like I overschedule

21:38

us and it puts a lot on me to

21:41

we gotta go here, we gotta we have basketball, we have soccerate, we

21:43

have so thank you. I

21:45

actually am gonna let that it.

21:48

I mean, we've tried it. It felt that way. We've

21:50

tried. Like I when I was a younger mom too,

21:52

people be like do this, do this schedule, and

21:54

then it got to the point where I'm like, like, you

21:57

just feel overwhelmed, like this time, this time this time,

21:59

and then now over the years, I've

22:01

just realized if you have a less of a routine,

22:03

everything just goes, It goes a little smoother.

22:06

You'll still get the stuff done, but you don't have

22:08

all that weight on your shoulders. Yeah,

22:10

and that advice holds true for people

22:12

without kids too, right, because just listening

22:15

to you, I'm like, oh my gosh, that is because normally

22:17

i have like this laundry list of two dues,

22:19

and I've been trying to say, Okay, I'm just going to focus

22:21

on trying to get three things done, and sometimes

22:24

goes three things, you feel overwhelmed

22:27

with the three. So I love that,

22:29

Absolutely love that advice. I'm gonna see if I can

22:31

maybe start that tomorrow. Not today, but maybe

22:33

tomorrow. Before

22:36

we let you go, Brandy, I get ask one

22:38

inside football watching a football question,

22:40

maybe you can give us a little behind the scenes. Obviously

22:44

there's been a lot going on in the quarterback position. Logan

22:48

is next in line after Haskins to come

22:50

in. Does he stay at home that he feels

22:52

ready? Has our conversation come up? It

22:54

has come up, So to preface

22:57

that this is so crazy,

23:00

Slogan has become a tight end. On every

23:02

team that we've been on, they have gone

23:04

through three quarterbacks in logans, the next

23:06

one's up, next one up as quarterback. Wow,

23:08

which is so bizarre because it does not commonly

23:11

happen on a team, and it has gotten

23:13

down to logan the last three teams he's been on

23:16

and now here and we're like, how does this keep happening

23:19

down at the point where you might actually have to go

23:21

on the ya, he

23:24

would be one percent ready. I mean

23:26

he'll even talk about it now. And the

23:29

best thing is he is so knowledgeable

23:32

um was as a quarterback and now

23:34

as a tight end that he knows the offense so well

23:37

that he would have no problem

23:39

mentally at all. And then even going

23:41

out in the ball He's like, I will go out

23:43

and throw it. He's like, and I know I'll do great. And I'm like, well

23:46

that I like the confidence and makes me I

23:49

mean, it makes me confident in him. So I know

23:51

he if he had to go out there, I think

23:53

he'd go win the game. Right

23:58

today, that's good give all the watching the football

24:00

fans some confidence. Looking

24:03

at the stretch ahead, Well, Brandy,

24:05

it has been so great to have you on here. Before

24:07

we let you go. Can you let our listeners

24:09

know where they can find you? I know that I definitely follow

24:12

your TikTok account. I love yes

24:16

24:18

even know my Instagram name it

24:21

24:23

24:27

maybe if I can find myself. I'm

24:29

not really good. Okay, there

24:31

we go, missus Thomas five. It

24:34

was pretty easy and I didn't even know you're

24:37

26:29

We are heading into wow over time

26:32

and speaking of a wow woman that interview

26:34

was with Brandy was amazing.

26:37

When she sent me her bio, I was just like

26:39

trying to combine it all together. She

26:42

just has so much on her shoulders. And

26:44

we talked about I

26:46

love what she said about not having routine and about

26:50

just not putting that pressure on her and which is figuring out what

26:52

works best for her. And she's

26:54

just such a strong, powerful woman, and

26:56

it transitions beautifully into what

26:58

we want to talk about quickly here and overtime

27:00

is just a celebration of strong women who

27:03

do all things and can do all things

27:05

and lead by example. And that is exactly

27:07

what has happened here for our country.

27:09

We have the first female and the first

27:11

minority Vice president elect, Kamala

27:14

Harris. It is such a remarkable time in

27:16

history and for someone who has a younger

27:18

sister of color, just the opportunity to show

27:21

her that you can be anything you want to be,

27:23

no matter what. We can actually say that

27:25

now, and I think we say it all the time here, especially

27:27

watching a football team. It's so great

27:29

to be the first, but it's more important to not be the last.

27:32

And that is something that we say in this new culture and new

27:34

era, and that's something that you're seen in the country too. I

27:36

think, Janine, the post you put up about

27:38

us being united is the message, right.

27:41

Kamala has a mixed ethnicity,

27:43

she has a mixed religious background.

27:46

That those are the ingredients to

27:49

what we need. We are a mixed

27:51

country. The country is all of ours,

27:53

as she said, so that, I mean, your

27:55

post was great. I don't know if you want to talk about it at

27:57

all, but this is the new world

28:00

what everyone needs to get with it. Yeah,

28:02

no, I agree, And I posted

28:04

the you know, we are united image

28:06

because I feel like that's the direction

28:09

that we need to go. That's the direction

28:11

that we have to go as a country. And

28:14

I think it's really neat obviously that she is a

28:16

female, she is a mixed race,

28:18

which is near and dear to my heart as well.

28:21

But also it was just interesting because another

28:24

super small subset of Americans

28:26

is within the sorority community. So

28:28

she is an Alpha Capa. She's in Alpha Kappa

28:30

Alpha, which is the same sorority as

28:32

I am. And what was interesting is

28:35

just seeing all of the sororities in

28:37

support of her, regardless of the fact,

28:39

oh well, like the delta is like no, she's an aka

28:41

I'm not going to not vote for her. It wasn't like that

28:43

at all. So not only is it bringing

28:45

like the smaller pockets together

28:48

and uniting us, but it's uniting all

28:50

women together. It's uniting women

28:52

and men. And she said it herself,

28:55

she's the first, but she's not going to be the last.

28:57

And women and young girls are going

28:59

to be able to look to her and say, well,

29:01

if she can do it, I can do it too.

29:03

And that is what is so exciting about

29:06

this time right now. So in congratulations

29:08

to her and for everyone that's to come

29:10

after her. Yeah, like you said this,

29:13

there will she's not the last. So that doesn't

29:15

mean now we all step back and go, oh my god, you're you're

29:17

great, You're wonderful. No, we all need to work

29:19

together now. We need these next women

29:22

in in in right. So the work is

29:24

not done. Yeah, the work. The work

29:26

is definitely not done. Speaking of work,

29:28

Stephanie, what events do we have coming up for the

29:30

while? I love my little segments anyway,

29:34

So will on

29:36

Salute are working together. November seventeenth,

29:38

We're having a virtual event. It's a yoga charity

29:41

yoga and it's spelled chair because

29:43

it's yoga in a chair. So we're talking about how

30:25
