The Washington football team had opportunities

0:03

against the Panthers to clench the division at

0:05

home, lock it up, rest the starters

0:07

before playoffs. It did not go our

0:09

way, but I'm gonna say it again, it's

0:12

not over yet. I'm Dad Kenny and

0:14

joining me as always is our birthday

0:16

girl, Stephanie to Jokien and Janine Samuels,

0:18

and this is the will brought to you by Fresh

0:21

Fine Wine. The game was a mess

0:23

on all three sides of the ball, but what matters

0:26

right now is what they do against the Eagles. It's

0:28

the final shop to take the division title

0:30

and to head to playoffs. Yes, and

0:32

obviously we're still going to head

0:34

to playoffs, so it's all good. But coming

0:36

up later is our wow spotlight.

0:39

We're going to talk to a former teammate of mine

0:42

turned member elect of the

0:44

North Carolina General Assembly,

0:46

Aaron Perey. So excited to

0:48

catch up with her, and of course, happy

0:50

birthday to you, Stephanie. All

0:53

thanks guys in the twenty five again.

0:57

Should we should be drinking our fresh fine wine today?

1:00

And I haven't ready? Yeah, maybe

1:02

after we might need it to talk about

1:04

this game, but I don't want to dwell too much

1:06

on it. I think we all agree it was pretty frustrating

1:09

to watch. They looked very flat. To

1:11

put it frank. Quarterback Dwayne

1:13

Haskins just couldn't get it going. He had

1:15

huge turnovers as a

1:17

result of poor decisions off the field and lack

1:20

of production on the field. He has been released

1:22

from the team. Yeah, and so I would love

1:24

to just read the statement that was put out by

1:26

you know, our head coach. Ron Rivera says,

1:29

this afternoon, I met with Dwayne and informed

1:31

him that we would be releasing him. I told

1:33

him that I believe it benefits both

1:35

parties that we go our separate

1:38

ways. We want to thank Dwayne for his contributions

1:41

these last two seasons and

1:43

wish him well moving forward.

1:47

Yeah. I mean I think he said it, well, it's

1:50

it is what it is. It was time,

1:53

and I think that we worked hard

1:55

together and we appreciate his time

1:58

and we're ready to keep going. We can all

2:00

our destiny as he says. So yeah

2:02

said wow, coach. Yeah.

2:04

I just want to note that release came out Monday,

2:07

and I think it was probably the best time

2:09

to do it, just to kind of get it behind us so that they

2:11

can go into practice on Wednesday

2:14

and just really focus on the game that's

2:16

this coming weekend against the Eagles. Let's

2:18

switch gears. If Alex Smith

2:20

isn't cleared, if he's not ready to go, he's been

2:23

battling that cash strain. Taylor Heineke

2:25

will be the starter for the Washington football

2:27

team. What are your thoughts after seeing him play nine

2:29

minutes of ball? I

2:32

actually was pretty impressed with the nine minutes.

2:35

You know, he showed us that he's not afraid to

2:37

take risk. He was literally doing it

2:39

all out there. I was like, who is this Heinecke

2:41

guy. I'm kind of liking him right now. So

2:44

I actually have confidence in him, and

2:46

I think, you know, having him,

2:48

you know, there and ready just in case,

2:51

is going to give the team overall some confidence.

2:53

Because I feel like he did. He showed all of us

2:55

what he can do in such a short period

2:57

of time. I agree with that lately

3:00

when you said confidence, that's the key thing.

3:02

Confidence from his teammates, which

3:04

is very important. I was impressed. What didn't

3:07

know what to expect when he went in, and I thought,

3:09

Oh, they're just gonna have somebody that's going to manage

3:11

the ball and not take risks and he did

3:13

it. He's like, I'm going for it, So I respect

3:15

that. Yeah, he was gutsy and you

3:18

gotta love that at that point, like what's to lose.

3:20

Let me just try to throw it down there and see what happens.

3:22

And another thing that I loved is I saw

3:25

Chase Young med a comment that he went up to him, you know,

3:27

his first game as captain for Chase Young, he was trying

3:29

to give the start the new quarterbacks some

3:32

words of encouragement. He said, Taylor

3:34

Henney to like grabbed his shoulder and said, I

3:36

got this. This is what I do. And Chase

3:38

Young me to comment that kid's got swagger, and

3:40

that's what you want to see. I like seeing

3:42

his confidence. I like seeing that he makes the decision. He

3:44

goes for it, if it's going down, if it's running. He's

3:46

not in decisive at all. He's just going to go for it.

3:49

And when he comes down to win

3:51

and you're in winner takes all, this is our

3:54

last opportunity. I'm quoting eminem one

3:56

shot, one opportunity. That's

3:58

what I want to see. I mean, if we got

4:01

to put our trust into the sky. I mean, he was taking

4:03

online classes the old dominion two weeks ago,

4:06

and now he has a chance if

4:08

Alex can't go to help

4:10

us clench the division. So really cool to see.

4:13

We mentioned it. The game has been flexed to Sunday

4:15

night football, last chance

4:18

you get. You gotta lock it up. We have to

4:20

do it. How do you guys feel about this game? I

4:24

feel like we obviously we

4:26

need to win. We all know that control our

4:28

destiny, no mistakes is

4:30

what we need. And we need teamwork on

4:32

every side. That means offense,

4:34

defense, special teams. It's going to

4:36

take the team to do this. Yeah,

4:39

and I agree, and I know that I feel like a broken

4:41

record sometime saying this. But the turnovers,

4:43

we could not have turnovers. We can't

4:46

just give the other team more opportunities

4:48

to get points on the board. And so we really

4:51

have to just play smart and play as

4:53

a unit. And again, we have to

4:55

come out strong. We've got to come out strong, start

4:58

strong, finish strong, or we can make

5:00

turnovers like chasted. Yes

5:02

exactly, I'm

5:05

okay with them on our fine. Yeah,

5:08

we need that that same swagger the team

5:10

had last time they played in that prime time

5:12

APM spot when they played against Dallas

5:15

on the day. We need that energy on

5:17

all sides of the ball to clench this title,

5:19

and we deserve. It's been a wild roller coaster

5:21

of a year. No one thought we would be here. Coach

5:24

rom Ribera said, are now relevance. Let's

5:26

clench it right now. As we

7:20

to the Wow Spotlight, where we

7:22

are spotlighting one of our very

7:24

own Aaron Perey, who was recently

7:26

voted into the North Carolina House of Representatives

7:29

District thirty seven. But we first

7:31

met Aaron when she was here with us as a First

7:33

Lady of Football. Now, in addition,

7:35

she's a military wife, a mom of two.

7:38

She's also a proud co owner of

7:40

a retail sporting goods store with her husband

7:42

Wayne, the founder and director

7:44

of a nonprofit organization serving community

7:47

youth in music arts, and as

7:49

if that wasn't enough, she's also

7:53

the Board of Adjustment for the town

7:55

of Holly Springs. Hello,

7:58

Aaron, how are you doing. Hey

8:00

guys, Hey Danie, Thank you so much for

8:02

a nice introduction. So good

8:04

to see you guys after so many years. So thanks

8:06

for having me today, of course, and

8:08

we're so glad to have you here. I kind

8:10

of joked about the fact that your bio was

8:13

so long because you have accomplished

8:16

so much. It's no surprise to me obviously.

8:18

When I first met you, I was really impressed

8:21

with you. We were co captains together

8:23

with the First Ladies of Football and you're definitely

8:25

a wow woman in recent to the word. But

8:28

talk to us a little bit about what you've been up

8:30

to since you left the first

8:32

ladies of football, because you actually have accomplished

8:35

so much already. Well

8:38

thank you for that. That's so nice of me to say. But

8:41

so I started

8:43

charing. I think it was two thousand and one

8:46

and it was I think it was nine

8:48

to eleven that season nine to eleven happened,

8:50

and so I cheered for about three years and

8:53

it was the best time in my life.

8:55

I mean, as you guys know, it was. It was quite

8:58

It was a great time and very munty mole,

9:00

almost profoundly memorable in some ways

9:03

because of our tours that we went on to visit the

9:05

troops overseas during the war. But

9:07

we'll probably talk about that later. But after I

9:09

left cheerleading, you know,

9:11

I was getting my master's degree at the time,

9:13

and I was working in Washington in public

9:16

policy and politics. That's sort of

9:18

my thing, my background professionally.

9:22

But I actually met my husband

9:25

in Iraq on a

9:28

Armed Forces entertainment tour with the cheerleaders. So

9:32

it was love at first sight, I guess you

9:34

could say, and we ended up getting

9:36

married and he

9:38

was an Army ranger at

9:41

the time, so he was active duty. So of course,

9:43

as many military spouses do, they

9:45

put their careers on the back of burner and

9:48

kind of leave what they their lives and

9:50

start a new life with their soldier. And so

9:52

we traveled the country

9:55

at the behest of the army for about twelve

9:57

years. And we have

9:59

two kids, Maddie and Cole. They're

10:01

thirteen and ten now, which I can't believe

10:03

she's thirteen teenager, but and

10:06

we settled and when he retired,

10:09

we retired at Court Bragg and

10:11

then we settled in Holly Springs, which is

10:13

about an hour north. It's a suburb

10:15

of Raleigh. And we

10:18

opened a small business. It's something we wanted

10:20

to do since we moved so much.

10:22

We opened a small business. Wanted to put roots

10:25

into a community so our kids do have to move anymore.

10:27

So we opened a franchise played against Sports.

10:30

And then I became really involved in the community

10:32

with the schools and town organizations

10:35

and started a little nonprofit and music education

10:37

also, And then I just had to run for office,

10:39

and so that was an adventure I don't of itself, and

10:42

I was happy and lucky and very

10:44

fortunate to win. And so I look forward to making

10:46

some good changes that we need in the state legislature.

10:49

So you had to really quick share with everyone

10:52

your slogan that your kids came up with,

10:54

because we talk about I wanted to make

10:56

sure I got the pronunciation of your name

10:59

correct, but tell that story really

11:01

quick. Yeah, so all my Cheerlider friends

11:03

now me is Aaron Falling because that's my maiden

11:06

name. So Wayne has

11:08

a really difficult last name. It's

11:11

Paree. It's pa r e. There's an accent on

11:13

the e. Nobody can pronounce it.

11:15

So everybody's like, pair koree. You know,

11:17

it's fine, We'll take whatever. But

11:20

during that campaign, my kids just came

11:22

up with hip hip pararee vote

11:24

Aaron Parree, and I

11:27

was like, that's brilliant, and so I just used it every

11:29

time I talked to anybody, and I thought, it's,

11:31

you know, hip hip pararee vote Aaron Parree, and it

11:33

really stuck and everybody now remembers how it pronounced

11:35

my last name. So yeah, kids,

11:37

they're just brilliant. I know, right they

11:41

are. So I guess that's

11:44

such a big to me. I mean, congratulations,

11:47

the North Carolina House of Representatives.

11:49

Super cool. What brought

11:51

you to finally say I'm gonna go for it? What

11:54

was that moment. Yeah. So you

11:56

know, I have a background in politics. I worked on a campaigns

11:59

and I did public policy for many years.

12:01

But when we when we became

12:04

small business owners. You know, this this

12:06

area, Southern Wit County is the heart and

12:08

soul of the community is business.

12:10

And you know, we really can see as whole

12:12

business owners how important those low taxes

12:14

were, how important a thriving economy

12:17

is, and and all that that

12:19

that goes into that transportation, needs,

12:21

education, public safety. And

12:23

it really felt like I was the right person

12:26

at the right time to take on this job.

12:28

You know, I felt like when we were headed in kind of the wrong direction,

12:30

need to turn ship around a little bit. And

12:32

so I, you know, just kind of

12:34

almost like cheerleading. I thought, I'll just throw my

12:36

hat and the ring and see what happens. And it

12:39

worked out. And so I think there was a lot

12:41

of work. You know, it was a hard fought race,

12:44

big time or fought race on both sides.

12:46

But you know, I think I think really

12:48

have a good opportunity now to to

12:51

make some proper changes and

12:53

really take the state in a good direction

12:55

for the people here, especially in Southern Wit County.

13:00

I always joke I've beenished leader

13:02

for going on seven seasons, and I think it's

13:04

just something in our DNA that we're just serial

13:06

overachievers. It's like we just see something and

13:08

we just go for it, and your bio clearly

13:11

lose up to that with everything that you've accomplished.

13:14

I want to ask you more about your husband Wayne. You

13:16

mentioned you met him on tour. He is an

13:18

Army ranger searched eight deployments in Afghanistan

13:20

and Iraq. We have obviously a lot

13:22

of female listeners. What advice do you have being

13:25

a military spouse and just raising

13:28

a children in a military household.

13:31

Yeah, so being a military spouse

13:34

is a challenge sometimes. You know,

13:36

that was probably some of the

13:38

best times in my life, but also the hardest times

13:40

of my life because you have to be

13:43

flexible and you have to be in a

13:45

supporting role a lot of times. You know, when those

13:48

deployments would happen, it

13:50

was you know, you'd say goodbye

13:53

and it was a long time. The

13:55

first day it seemed like, Wow, I'm not going to have my

13:57

husband back for months and months and

14:00

seems like a lifetime. It's just like but

14:03

but I think having that support system,

14:05

which is what I was really involved in for

14:07

those twelve years. The family writiness

14:09

groups and just being able

14:12

to support each other and have that sort

14:14

of system in place

14:16

where your needs, the needs of your

14:18

fellow military spouses and families are

14:20

taken care of. If your soldier comes home

14:22

hurt or god forbid,

14:25

there's a loss in your unit, those that

14:27

support system is so important. So I think

14:29

I think I always coped with those

14:32

deployments and those changes

14:34

as frequent changes by always

14:37

having something to work toward.

14:39

You know, when Wayne was in one seven to five,

14:41

we did a unit walk one hundred

14:43

and seventy five miles when

14:46

they leave goal, so that was

14:48

something every day. I made sure that we worked

14:50

toward that goal and we kept in shape,

14:52

and you know, it was almost a little social

14:55

benefit to that. But you get

14:57

through it by having that sort of you

14:59

know, I'm gonna do I'm gonna make this goal for myself

15:01

and I'm gonna chieve it by the time they get home. And

15:04

I think making sure that

15:06

the families are taken care of at home when the soldiers

15:09

are gone, then that the guys do a better

15:11

job. Guys and gals do a better job, you

15:13

know, overseas when they know that their

15:16

families are okay back here. What

15:18

I think is really cool about it is, obviously

15:21

you were on the sidelines. You're physically

15:24

but cheering on your husband and putting

15:27

him first in his career, and now it's like the roles

15:29

have reverse, and you know, now it's your time

15:31

to step into the spotlight and to have

15:34

him kind of cheer you on. So it's really cool to

15:36

see the kind of that you know, see Saul,

15:39

of what's happening in your kids, to see that too. So I

15:41

admire that. Thank you.

15:43

Yeah, I think that is that's interesting that you've

15:46

touched on that because you know, we often talk

15:48

about that. You know, I kind of had to put my life on

15:50

hold to support him,

15:53

and now the rules, I guess you could

15:55

say, are reversed a little bit. I mean, Wayne's

15:57

Wayne's a great businessman and he's a great American

15:59

warrior, but he's also the campaigner

16:01

and he was a big part of the campaign, and I know

16:03

that he is fully behind me

16:05

in this new adventure and he's

16:08

a good support. I

16:10

love that. And that's you know, one thing that we talk about.

16:12

It's just the importance of having a team having

16:14

a support system, and it's even better

16:16

when it's your husband or you know, your mate. And

16:19

so I love hearing that, And it doesn't

16:21

surprise me because that's the type of a person

16:23

that you would attract, I feel like, to

16:25

you, and you wouldn't accept anything less than

16:27

that. And you supported him, you know,

16:30

and so now it is his turn to support you. But

16:32

I just love hearing that. And when you kind

16:34

of talk about the you know, you all raising

16:36

your children together, and both

16:39

of you all have such diverse backgrounds,

16:41

but then they kind of met on,

16:43

you know, a military tour and within the military

16:46

community. What life lessons

16:48

do you want to make sure that the two of

16:50

you pass down to your children,

16:52

and maybe some of those principles that you

16:55

all live by day in and day out, that you want

16:57

to make sure that your children understand, you

17:01

know. I think I think service

17:03

above self to me has always

17:05

been important to Wayne and I, you know,

17:07

both of us, and I think even the team,

17:09

the members of our team, I think that you

17:12

know, and I guess we could use an example of going on

17:14

tour. You know, it's when

17:17

you're over there, you know, when we were in a

17:19

different we were in the nation's capital.

17:21

And when I was hearing it was post nine

17:24

eleven, so that's when the war started, and

17:26

so a lot of our military tours

17:28

were in active wartime, and so

17:31

some of these soldiers over there, they were gone for

17:33

your plus So we would go over

17:35

you know, and I can use the experience of Iraq,

17:37

and we went over there. But there's

17:39

just something so special about

17:43

using your talents and your skills and

17:45

your life and service to

17:47

something bigger than yourself. And I think

17:49

that that's something that I want to instill

17:51

in my children, because that's not just

17:54

you can use that in so many different ways and

17:56

make a difference in that way. But

17:58

I remember being over there with you guys,

18:02

and I know you remember this, but it would

18:04

be, you know, we're on a stage in

18:07

the middle of a war zone in a different

18:09

country, and there's like

18:11

a sea of hundreds

18:13

of soldiers

18:15

and they haven't been home in

18:18

a long time and they're fighting,

18:21

and you know, we're it's

18:25

just I remember, probably one of the most memorable

18:27

experiences of that is just that you think,

18:29

wow, that what they're giving

18:32

up, you know, for all of us here back

18:34

home. And when you hear a sea

18:37

of hundreds of guys screaming and singing

18:39

at the top of their lungs. God

18:41

Bless America that you know, we're God

18:43

Bless the USA. It's you know, it's just

18:46

really a profoundly special experience

18:48

to hear that, and that I'll never

18:50

forget that, and that was I'll never be

18:52

able to match that in any way

18:55

if it wasn't for that experience

18:57

being a cheerleader and going over there and witnessing

18:59

that myself health. So that was pretty special.

19:02

I remember us all being in tears during

19:04

that year, and I

19:06

was going to say, you know, just like what Stephanie's

19:08

saying. You know, you're seeing everyone out

19:11

in the crowd cheering for us

19:13

and yelling for us and excited to see

19:15

us, and we're like, no, we're

19:17

here from you. This is about you. This

19:20

is you know, all praised to you. And

19:22

so it is very humbling

19:25

to you know, live in their shoes

19:27

just for a couple of weeks, but then to also

19:29

understand how much they appreciated us just bringing

19:31

a little bit of home to them and so and

19:34

it's you're right, I mean all of us experience

19:36

the same thing together. Yeah, it's like a

19:39

moment of normalcy in what

19:41

they're going through, which kind

19:43

of brings me to our last question. With

19:46

the work you're doing for nonprofits, how

19:49

is that helping bring normalcy

19:51

with you know, arts education, this youth orchestra

19:54

that you're starting, how is that helping your community?

19:58

Yeah, thank you for bringing that up. So I'm a violent I've

20:00

been a violinist since I was nine, and I

20:02

played through graduate school the George Mason

20:04

Universities and for New Orchestra. So, you

20:07

know, education is important to me. But

20:10

down here in our school system, our

20:12

public school system, they don't have strings, you

20:14

know, and that's where I learned growing

20:16

up in the Northern Virginia

20:18

area. So I wanted to

20:21

make sure that that was available to kids

20:23

where I grew up. So I

20:25

put together a little nonprofit and

20:28

it's a youth orchestra and it's

20:30

grown so quickly, but I run

20:32

it as a volunteer, so I do

20:34

the instructing myself and we brought

20:36

on someone else to help. But

20:39

that's really special because some of these kids

20:41

just latch onto that it becomes who they

20:43

are and it can be life changing

20:45

when they have that opportunity to learn a

20:48

different kind of skill. Or a

20:50

love in the arts, and that isn't

20:52

otherwise available to them in the school

20:54

system, so, you know, not

20:57

being in a position to change that in

20:59

the public system at the time, I

21:02

wanted to make sure that that was available to kids

21:04

in our community. So it's a growing program

21:06

and I'm really happy about it and proud

21:09

of it, and I hope it can grow and expand

21:11

into other opportunities for our youth

21:13

and maybe branching out in different areas

21:16

of the arts. But for right now,

21:18

it's it's on its way and

21:20

I'm really really happy about it. I hope

21:22

it continues to grow. So thanks for bringing that up.

21:24

Yeah, I commend you because sometimes it's

21:27

like only sports is the outlet for a young kids

21:29

sometimes and it's important for them to see

21:31

that you can excel and be identified

21:34

with something entirely different, whether it's arts,

21:36

science. So I think it's amazing.

21:39

I played the clarinet, so I love music.

21:42

Yeah, that's right. Sports are very

21:44

popular around here, but you know, there's

21:46

so many different ways kids can really grow into

21:49

themselves, and it is important to have those

21:51

opportunities for them. We

21:53

24:39

are heading into will overtime, the last

24:42

wall overtime of twenty twenty years, staying

24:44

so long and hello to the new year.

24:47

Before we say goodbye,

24:49

I want to ask what has been the good

24:52

that has come out of twenty twenty. I think all

24:54

of us can agree it's been a really tough year for

24:56

probably everyone in some sort of way.

24:59

So let's just focus on what was the positive?

25:01

What was the good that came out of your twenty twenty staff

25:03

will start with you, of course,

25:08

I still from a couple of episodes, I'm

25:10

gonna go with this same thought process

25:13

of twenty

25:15

twenty making me be still more

25:18

still than normal. I'm so active,

25:20

my brain is always going, I'm always doing, doing, doing

25:22

over, signing up, over saying yes to

25:25

everything and I was forced

25:27

to be still and reevaluate

25:30

things, and so I think that that's

25:32

the overall good for me. Yeah,

25:35

and I actually was going to say something very similar,

25:37

so ditto to that. But then also it's

25:40

enabled all of us to just connect with one another

25:42

in a very different way. And

25:44

so, you know, we had Aaron on I

25:47

would I want to say, Midsummer, probably

25:50

sixty or seventy alumni First

25:52

Ladies of Football got on Zoom

25:55

and we just you know, I hadn't seen people

25:57

in such a long time, and so I

25:59

just think we've been able to connect in a different way. I've

26:01

been you know, face timing my parents more. Normally

26:03

it would just be a phone call, but since I don't see them

26:06

as much, so I think it's been an opportunity

26:08

to reconnect and just to connect with

26:10

people in a different way. And I've really enjoyed it,

26:12

and I hope I don't forget these new

26:14

ways of connection and making sure that

26:17

I kind of carry that over into next year as well.

26:20

I was gonna say, I've said this couple of times, but

26:23

you know, just like a material thing, as I was able to close

26:26

on a house, my first home, so that has been the

26:28

big thing for twenty twenty. But also we've

26:31

all said this, but being more vulnerable and having

26:33

things kind of stripped down. I set this other

26:35

end of the year circle for the cheerleaders. But you

26:38

know, every season we come back and there's all these

26:40

obviously like fancy, flashy things that

26:42

make this experience what it is, and

26:44

this has been the season that they've stripped everything down.

26:46

It's back to basics. It's shown me my

26:49

love for dance, it's shown me teamwork

26:51

and to care for a teammate in a different way.

26:53

So just kind of taking all of you know, the

26:55

trips and the tours, all the things

26:57

that we obviously like probably take for granted

27:00

season that we've have these opportunities, we've just stripped

27:02

it down. So it's been a year to really get

27:04

back to basics in a lot of different ways and to

27:06

appreciate things more. With that

27:08

said, we're going to do the cliche

27:11

thing. What are your twenty twenty one resolutions,

27:14

Stephanie. Okay, Well,

27:18

by the way, what you said about the team and stripping it

27:20

down is beautiful. I think that that is

27:22

something that you guys are so lucky

27:24

from this team. You know, at first I'm sure

27:27

it felt like, oh, COVID the stinks,

27:29

we can't do anything, But I think that's the beauty

27:31

and the shared experience that

27:33

that team will have forever. So

27:36

I think it's cool. Okay, So

27:38

I'm not going to do a resolution for me. Instead,

27:41

I'm going to set an intention, and

27:44

for me, it's of who I want to be. I

27:47

feel like, you know, I've just sometimes

27:50

been lucky or just things

27:53

have just happened, but I haven't really decided who

27:55

I want to be. And I think that will

27:58

be a game changer for me moving forward,

28:00

and so everything I do from that will

28:03

move towards that intention of who

28:05

I want to be in this world. How I show up to meetings,

28:07

how I show up to my friends, how I show up to my

28:09

family. So my intentions

28:12

and I'm still working on this a

28:14

bit, but thus far is courage

28:17

fearless. For

28:19

me, it's kind of hard to make change. So

28:21

I want to be courageous and fearless about

28:23

new opportunities. And my other intent

28:26

is to be more gracious

28:28

and present. So I

28:31

want to be gracious in you know, sometimes we

28:33

don't accept gifts or compliments, so

28:36

you know, the universe doesn't make gifts

28:38

available if you're not worth it. So

28:40

I think sometimes, you know, I may say,

28:42

well I'm not worth that, or I shouldn't get that, but I

28:44

don't want to second guess that anymore. So gratitude

28:47

every day and the things that do happen,

28:49

the little things. And watch the movie

28:51

Soul on Disney.

28:54

That movie is amazing and talks about

28:56

being present and appreciating all the little

28:58

things in life, and that

29:00

is something that is it's hard to

29:02

remember all the time, but super important.

29:04

So long winded, but that is

29:06

those are my intentions, you

29:09

know what. Long winded, but so profound. I'm

29:11

going to listen to this again and shot

29:13

down knows of what Stephanie said. So

29:16

I think y'all know that I'm a huge goal

29:18

setter. I do you know the vision thing

29:20

Every single year, we actually

29:22

have a process that I take my family through, so we

29:25

plan on doing that same thing. So I don't exactly

29:27

know specifically what I am going to

29:29

like as far as my goals, but I will

29:31

know in a couple of days because we do that on New Year's

29:33

Day. So I'll share that with you all. But

29:35

I'm definitely gonna have goals around, you know, my

29:38

business and finances, you know, health,

29:40

fitness, all of that type of stuff. But one

29:42

thing that I'm going to add is a focus on habits,

29:46

So the habits that you have to have and instill

29:48

the type of person that you have to be, who

29:51

you have to show up as to accomplish

29:53

the goals that you set out for. So I think

29:55

sometimes we fixate so much on the goal

29:57

itself that we forget that we

30:00

were already the type of person to accomplish that goal.

30:02

We would have probably already accomplished that goal. So

30:04

I want to focus a lot on what Stephanie is saying

30:06

as far as intention, but more about like what

30:09

are the habits that I have to have and who, like what

30:11

type of person do I need to be in

30:13

order to accomplish the goals that I want to

30:15

accomplish. So really focusing on consistency

30:18

and making sure that I don't procrastinate

30:20

getting up early, making sure that I, you

30:22

know, finish my morning routine, like the habits

30:25

that I need to have. Definitely just being present,

30:27

I think that that is huge, Like being present in the

30:29

moment so that I'm not feeling like

30:31

I have to work all day long.

30:34

And then the moments that I do take off that I am

30:36

truly there and in the moment with those and

30:38

not thinking about work. So I can't

30:40

wait to talk about this in the new year. I'm

30:44

going to keep my short and sweet because I know we're run out

30:46

of time, and I'm with you, Stephanie. If

30:48

there's anything I've learned from twenty twenty, it's

30:51

you can't have plans and you can't have it

30:53

could just anything could change in any second. So

30:55

for me, I'm gonna not set resolutions,

30:57

but more of intentions and to kind of over

31:00

the habits and the things that I've discovered

31:02

about myself from this vulnerable

31:04

year of being, you know, a stript down year, and I'm going to take

31:06

that into twenty twenty one. If

31:09

you have your twenty twenty one resolutions,

31:11

we would love to hear them. Send us a DM

31:13
