Lots of some moves are made in free agency by the Washington
0:04
football team, including the signing of quarterback
0:07
Ryan Fitzpatrick. And I don't know about y'all,
0:09
but I am here for it. I'm
0:11
Dad Kenney and joining me as Stephan Jokianatinie
0:13
Samuels And this is the while brought to you by
0:16
Fresh Time Mine. Yes, I am
0:18
here for it as well, and we're going to get right
0:20
into our Wow home field segment
0:23
today. As you can see, joining us is
0:25
Casey DeNardo. She is a former
0:27
Team USA field hockey player
0:29
turned health coach and founder of Coaching
0:32
with Casey Workouts on Demand. If
0:35
you have not checked out her website, you're gonna want to do
0:37
that. I am so excited. On top of that,
0:39
she happens to be the girlfriend of Washington Football
0:41
team's Coholkum who I had a chance
0:43
to interview and just love him.
0:46
And I'm sure you do too, Casey,
0:48
So let's talk about this. We have a power
0:50
couple. You are a power woman.
0:53
Welcome to the WOW. Yeah,
0:56
thanks for having me. I'm super excited to
0:58
be here. Yeah. Cole
1:01
and I we get that a lot. But it's just
1:03
funny because we're both just like we
1:05
don't view ourselves that way. I mean, yeah, I
1:07
guess so. But we just love being super competitive
1:09
and we're both really intense, so I guess
1:11
you could say power couple. But I try to think
1:14
that I'm a little bit better than him most of the time. Well,
1:17
of course you are, you're on the Wow.
1:21
Yeah, I never let him win down like
1:23
any of my achievements. I'm like, well, I was
1:25
a professional athlete for four years and you're
1:28
only in your year too, so we'll see
1:30
who ended up being the superior. But yeah,
1:33
I joke around with him and I try to get him
1:35
to work out with me, but we have different style
1:37
of workouts that we enjoy. So it's actually
1:39
ton of funny. All right. So, since you're
1:42
the vet here, can you talk
1:44
to us about your field hockey
1:46
career and what it taught you? Yes,
1:49
so I growing up. I
1:51
started field hockey in sixth grade. I
1:53
tried out for the uniform because you got
1:55
to wear a skirt to school, and I was like, oh,
1:58
I'm in like love this want to wear the
2:00
squirre. I had never played the sport before.
2:02
I was more of like a soccer girl. And
2:04
my coach after a trial, just like, by the
2:07
end of this year, you're going to be obsessed with field
2:09
hockey, and I was like, no, I love soccer,
2:11
and yep, she was right. I ended up playing
2:13
for fourteen years, so played
2:16
all of middle school, high school. During
2:18
high school, I was on like the under USA
2:21
squads like U fourteen, U seventeen,
2:23
all those squads building up, and
2:26
then I walked on at UNC
2:28
with the hopes of earning a scholarship, and
2:31
ultimately I did, and my
2:34
junior year of college, I got
2:36
selected to the USA women's
2:39
team, which was funny because how
2:41
you get selected for the USA team as you
2:43
play in a summer tournament and the head
2:45
coach is there and the scouts and they select you.
2:48
And this summer I was like, this is my last
2:50
year playing in the tournament, like I'm never gonna make it.
2:52
And then it was funny because I had been joking about that
2:54
like all summer, and then I was on family
2:57
vacation and got an email from the head coach like
2:59
you've been did, and I was like what, Like
3:02
not what I was expecting. So in
3:04
the last two years in college, I was on Team
3:07
USA and playing in college, but I could only
3:09
go train with the USA girls like here and there
3:11
because I was still in school. And
3:13
then after school, I graduated and moved
3:15
to be a full time athlete on the team for
3:18
two more years until I ultimately
3:20
left the team after four years. Oh
3:23
and what it meant to me, I didn't even say that, But the
3:26
things that I taught that was like me rambling on
3:28
the things that it taught me the most. It probably
3:31
is just resilience because there
3:33
were a lot of moments where I was told no,
3:36
Like I was cut from my I
3:39
was the only girl who was supposed to make varsity in high
3:41
school because I went and trained with the girls, and I got
3:43
put on JV and I just kept
3:45
playing really well in practicing got eventually pulled
3:48
up. And then for college, I didn't
3:50
get a scholarship. I was a walk on and then ultimately
3:52
earned a scholarship, and then on the under
3:55
squads, I was always told that I wasn't going to
3:57
be good enough to make the USA team, and then
3:59
I made that. So throughout my career
4:01
it's just been underdog mentality and
4:04
resilience. So that's what it's taught me. Mostly
4:08
love that I'm right there with you.
4:10
I looked at the field
4:12
hockey girls when I was in high school and I just loved their
4:14
uniform. I was a cheerleader, so I admired the
4:16
skirts. So I just I'm in. I admire the
4:20
aggressiveness and like the work ethic that field
4:22
hockey players have. So kudos to you, but
4:25
I want to ask, how did
4:27
you transition into what your
4:29
profession now? Was it? I obviously workouts
4:32
and I'm sure nutrition and health are kind of parallel
4:34
with your training p professional athlete, but what made
4:36
you take that next step and now being your own
4:39
businesswoman. Yeah. So it's
4:41
actually funny because in college,
4:43
all my teammates used to joke that I was like the
4:45
least like fitness one, like didn't want to work
4:47
out like they would be like, hey, we're going to like the optional
4:50
lift, and I was like, I'm good, Like I've played
4:52
like I'm gonna still on the couch like I wasn't. Out
4:54
of all my roommates, I was like the least like active
4:57
one. And then when I made the USA
5:00
team, actually kind of like the
5:02
opposite is what inspired me. So being
5:04
on the team, I had some like bad
5:06
experiences with coaching and
5:09
it affected me really mentally, and then it
5:11
was so strict sometimes with like food,
5:13
and the girls were so focused on it that I kind
5:16
of wanted to turn into the opposite.
5:18
I wanted to be a coach that was
5:20
like extremely positive and motivated
5:22
her clients and encouragement
5:25
based coaching instead of like negativity
5:28
coaching. And then for health coaching,
5:30
I just growing up in sports, I've seen
5:32
so many eating disorders and I
5:35
never count calories and I just do more
5:37
of like a balanced plate diet and just
5:40
wholesome eating, And so I wanted to transition
5:42
into helping girls, especially younger girls
5:44
and adults, be able to realize
5:47
that they don't need to do these bad diets
5:49
and calorie counting and be
5:51
so strict in order to have an
5:53
awesome body and be super body positive. So
5:56
that was kind of like my motivation for getting into
5:58
it. I have a I know to me, I
6:00
have a quick question though, because the
6:03
dance world too, right where there's
6:05
a lot of those same issues negative
6:07
body image, like the eating disorders.
6:10
Now that you're around coal,
6:13
do the men ever have that? Do they
6:15
ever have that? I know they get weighted in and they
6:18
do get fined if they're not. Don't make weight. But do they
6:20
have that same dishue do we have? I
6:23
would say not for like eating
6:26
or dieting. I will say when I first met Coal,
6:29
he ate like terrible, Like he took me
6:31
out to cheesecake factory and he
6:33
ordered like the fried buffalo wings,
6:35
the fried mac and cheese bites, the fried
6:37
like like I was just like sitting
6:40
across the table, like this is how you fuel
6:42
your body, Like I do not understand. So
6:44
since then, I've like totally transform his
6:47
diet, like now he eats super clean, and then
6:49
whenever he does eat bad, he's like my son occurreds
6:51
so bad. And I'm like, yeah, that's because I don't put like butter,
6:54
sugar and all your stuff, like it's mostly like
6:57
plant based and then healthy proteins.
6:59
But I would say they probably
7:01
deal more at the backlash of like not being like
7:03
big enough or muscular enough, because which
7:07
I'm sure weighs on them mentally as well. But
7:09
I remember Cole posted like for our
7:11
anniversary and he got a lot of comments
7:13
being like you're small, bro, like you
7:16
need to hit the gym, and like this is during quarantine
7:18
when like Jim's were closed. But he was still like
7:20
trading at home. He made like a home gym. So
7:23
I'm sure that I can't speak
7:25
for like him personally, but I'm sure that a lot of guys
7:27
deal with like you're small, or you need to get
7:29
more muscular, that guy's not quick enough. So it's
7:32
more of like they get a lot of that feedback, which
7:34
I'm sure mentally is frustrating. Yeah,
7:37
I mean, I agree they have to deal with it, just in
7:39
a different way, right because they still have to
7:41
perform, and they're still expected to
7:44
be a certain weight, and depending on the position,
7:46
it could be putting on weight, whereas with us
7:48
it was making sure that we were lean in tone. So
7:51
I think it's probably, you know, just different
7:53
and it depends on, you know, like you said, the
7:55
position. And so one thing I'd mentioned at
7:58
the top was just that I was in love with your website and
8:00
kind of going through everything, and I remember there being
8:02
a comment on there talking about that you know
8:04
that you really believe that you can eat healthy
8:06
and still have your cake too, and
8:09
it's just about a balance. And you also
8:11
have this philosophy of consistency
8:13
over perfection. And I love
8:15
that because I was reading a book and it was just talking about just
8:17
you know, make sure that you're focusing on just one percent
8:20
improvement every single day and just being
8:22
consistent. So why is that so important
8:25
for us to really just focus on consistency and
8:27
not worry so much about being perfect all
8:29
the time. Yeah, sou
8:32
For me, like, consistency is the key to
8:34
results. And I try to call my clients all the
8:36
time that fitness and eating healthy
8:39
should be like brushing your teeth something you
8:41
remember to do daily. So like, just
8:43
like you brush your teeth that morning and night, you need to work out
8:45
every single day. It doesn't have to be a
8:48
hard, crazy, intense workout,
8:50
go on a twenty minute walk, play spike
8:52
ball, like comment, clients, just do something
8:54
thirty minutes a day to be active and you will
8:57
see those results. And I
8:59
think people strive for like perfection, Like
9:01
I have to have the perfect workout to feel
9:03
amazing, and it's like nah some days, like
9:05
I just put on a podcast and it's a slow walk
9:08
for me, But I got my body moving and
9:10
that is the most important thing. And I preached
9:12
that all the time in my videos, Like when I'm talking
9:15
to my members, I'm like, you're here today, that's all
9:17
that matters. We're moving this body. You can
9:19
modify as much as you want, but you're here and that's
9:21
all I care about. So that's like
9:23
the biggest thing for me. I feel
9:25
like that helps people with not feeling as like
9:28
pressured to have this
9:30
perfect workout every day. And
9:33
then I try to just create challenges for my
9:35
clients so to keep them consistent. So right
9:37
now we're doing an arm challenge, and then
9:39
last month we did glute
9:41
challenge, So they try to do this fifteen
9:44
or twelve minute workout every single day
9:46
for the entire month, and then I pick like one winner
9:48
at the end of the month based on like the entries
9:50
that each person does, and like so many people
9:53
are like I couldn't get in my full work out today,
9:55
but I did my arms, and like I'm like, at least you
9:57
did something. So the challenge of adding
10:00
something to do once a day that's really short
10:02
and they feel like it's attainable is super
10:05
successful for reaching goals like
10:09
that. So obviously we're going
10:11
to pivot. We know that this month is Women's History
10:13
Month, and as you're training people to
10:15
be consistent and you know, live
10:19
health and fitness, you know, in their everyday
10:21
life. What do you think in kind of
10:23
combining your background, what do you think it's important
10:25
for us to teach and share with one another
10:27
as women this month. Yeah,
10:30
I think the biggest thing for me right now
10:32
is not comparing. I'm
10:34
finding with a lot of my younger clients like they're
10:37
just sucked into social media and I
10:39
myself find that one I'm on TikTok or
10:42
Instagram, I'm seeing a lot of things
10:44
filtered to me about getting lip filler, botox,
10:47
or the body type is not my
10:49
muscular body type that I look in the mirror and see.
10:52
So it's super scary,
10:54
I think for especially the younger generations,
10:56
but we do it as well as adults, to
10:59
constantly compare yourself and feel like you're
11:01
not good enough. So what I'm trying to teach to like a
11:03
lot of my younger clients and hopefully to the younger
11:05
generation is like, there is
11:07
nobody else in this world that looks like you, So
11:10
like if you go and change things, you're going to end
11:12
up looking similar to somebody else. So like
11:14
you need to be uniquely yourself, and like nobody
11:17
looks like Casey Nardo, So this is uniquely
11:19
me and That's what I try to tell myself all
11:21
the time when I feel pressure, like, oh, my lips
11:23
are so thin, I should have gotten lip filler.
11:26
I try to bring myself back in and be like,
11:28
but nobody looks like me, and that's what makes
11:30
me special. So I think, just not comparing
11:33
in a world of comparison. And
11:35
I say on my website too, that Instagram
11:38
is a snapshot of like the best moments
11:40
of people. That's all you're seeing.
11:43
And I tell my clients all the time, Yeah, that
11:45
picture you saw me on my Instagram, I'm sucking
11:48
in, holding my breath, flexing my as as hard as
11:50
I can. That's how I got that picture.
11:52
Like I'm like, it's not me, just like sitting
11:54
there and actually like and I try to
11:56
remind all my girls that like, yeah, they're like you're struted
11:58
to your rip. I'm like, I'm not breathing. I'm
12:01
leaning back slightly to get that ab
12:03
show and like, girl, trust me, I'm working
12:05
for that photo. Like it is just reminding
12:08
them that, you know, don't compare itself to
12:10
something that's not even a real reality. I
12:13
love how honest you are because I am right
12:16
there with you. I'm like counting in
12:18
to take the picture, and it's just so funny because
12:20
you're totally right. We all scroll through Instagram
12:22
and we compare ourselves and the reality as we're all
12:24
just trying to do our best. On the other side
12:26
of the camera, we're going to completely switch
12:29
DearS. You've brought up a hole a little
12:31
bit, but we want to learn a little bit more about
12:33
y'all's relationship. How
12:36
do you balance your cole's
12:38
relationship him in season and you kind of building
12:40
your own business. Yeah,
12:43
I think it actually balances pretty well because
12:46
he's like one of those guys who gets up super
12:48
early, wants to be one of the first in the building and
12:50
the last out. He likes to go into really watch
12:53
film or rehab recovery, so he's
12:55
really gone from like six am until dinner
12:57
time. So I have this huge window of
13:00
time where I can build my website, record
13:02
videos at it, upload talk to clients.
13:05
So it actually works out really well. It actually works better
13:08
in season because he's so busy and
13:10
I try to just you know, support him and focus on
13:12
him. But out of season is when it's hard because
13:14
like I have to miss out on some fun things
13:16
if I have to like, I have to record a video today
13:18
for the members, so I can't go golfing with you
13:21
or something fun. So I actually find during
13:23
season is a lot better for our balance.
13:26
Do you have like a typical date night or do you try
13:28
to like build in time or you work aside
13:31
um. Yeah, we both love movies,
13:33
and he like he is like a movie buff,
13:36
Like if the movie trailer looks horrible,
13:38
he's like, I want to see that. I'm like that looks like trash
13:41
like, but he like will go watch any movie.
13:43
He just loves like being in the movie theater. So now
13:45
that with COVID, like with the movie theaters
13:48
kind of being a no go, we've
13:50
done like movie nights, so we did like the Harry Potter,
13:53
We watched Game of Thrones for like the third time
13:55
through, and then right now we're doing
13:57
Avengers because we watched Wanda Vision
14:00
and we're like and I was like, I gotta start from
14:02
like the origin stories of everybody. So we started
14:04
Captain Merico one last night and we're going through
14:07
like each movie. But that's kind of like been
14:09
our date night lately. Is the movies in him
14:11
explaining all the like Avenger stuff to me
14:13
because he's a super fan
14:16
of all the Avengers in Marble and DC
14:18
comics and all that stuff. So that's been like
14:20
our date night lately. And then sometimes we'll just
14:23
we used to go out to dinner, but with COVID it's
14:25
hard now. Yeah, better
14:27
to just stay in hang out with one
14:29
another these days. Speaking
14:32
of like he's faned of Avengers. Were obviously
14:34
a fan of his. You know, he had such a breakout
14:36
year and really made a name for himself, very
14:38
impressive on the field. But we know that, you
14:41
know, the hard work that we stee in the field is made
14:43
like in the locker room at home, at you know, practices,
14:46
and if you kind of can just think
14:48
about his performance. I know that you talked a little bit about,
14:50
you know, his diet changing a little bit, and I know one thing
14:52
that he shared with me was just this whole
14:54
mentality of after every practice
14:56
or every workout, like really thinking about, Okay, what can
14:59
I improve, What are the three things that I could work on? What
15:02
is his normal routine, and what do you think
15:05
really helped him, you know, breakthrough and have
15:07
such a great year. Yeah,
15:10
well, a lot of his coaches will tell
15:12
you that he's like a film junkie, So I really
15:14
think that's why he is such a breakthrough
15:17
athlete. So obviously he'll
15:19
wake up really early, eat grab breakfast,
15:21
go into the facility, and do everything until
15:24
I don't even know what they do in the facility, but it's got to be a lot
15:26
because he's gone till dinner time. And then
15:28
he comes home and I'll make them a nice
15:31
dinner to you know, lots of protein, lots
15:33
of carbs so he can refuel, and then
15:35
he either will take a nap while I'm making dinner
15:37
because he's so just like it's exhausting, and
15:40
then he'll read fresh up and watch
15:42
film for the rest of the night until he falls asleep.
15:44
So it's really no break I
15:47
know, like it probably seems like
15:50
the best job to everyone in the world, which it is, but it
15:52
really is go go go, Like I think people think there's
15:54
more downtime in the NFL than there really is. But
15:57
these guys, like I've dated
15:59
other athletes before I dated Cole, and I have to say,
16:01
football is the most insane, impressive,
16:04
hard working sport I've ever seen.
16:07
You not only have to be athletically
16:09
gifted, but you have to be insanely intelligent
16:12
up here, and I think that's where he tries to take
16:15
it to the next level. Is he watches so much
16:17
film in his free time? Man,
16:21
Yeah, we see, we see the hard work. We know
16:24
it's not as glamorous as everyone
16:26
thinks. They're just fortunate. We
16:28
all want to find what our passion is so that every
16:31
day it doesn't feel like work. And so
16:33
I'm sure it doesn't feel like work to him, Nor does
16:35
your career either. Yeah, definitely
16:38
not. He loves it, especially game day. He gets
16:40
like so giddy and just he loves all
16:42
the guys on the team. So it's definitely his
16:44
passion, like his one thing that he loves
16:46
in life. Who's his go to like
16:49
friend player that um, you
16:51
know gets him through practices. Oh, he
16:54
has a lot, I would
16:56
say right now, him and Jared or they call
16:58
him x Jared. I think it's names Norris.
17:01
He's another linebacker who came from Carolina
17:03
and they like just really get along in our
17:05
goofballs and like Jeremy Reeves and Matt
17:08
Ianitis. He loves all those guys. So, I
17:10
mean he has so many that you know come over
17:12
to the house after games and they watch football
17:15
on Sunday nights if it's an earlier game together.
17:17
So it's fun because I've been able to meet a lot of people
17:20
on the team. That's cool. So
17:22
we are running out of time. But there's two questions
17:25
we ask all of our guests. So one of them is
17:27
if you could, what would you tell your younger self.
17:32
That's a good one. I think I
17:34
would tell myself to not
17:37
stress over things that I can't control. I
17:39
have a really hard time of saying what if
17:41
or looking into the future and not really
17:43
focusing on the present moment and the blessings
17:46
that I have. So I think I would tell myself to
17:48
just like control the controllables and kind of like enjoy
17:50
life more instead of stressing on things
17:52
that are out of my control. And what
17:55
motivates you daily? What
17:58
motivates me daily is just like building
18:01
a connection with other people. That's why I started
18:03
coaching with Casey because I find
18:05
so much confidence in living a healthy
18:07
lifestyle and fitness, and I want to help other
18:10
people just be the best versions of themselves.
18:12
So it really motivates me when clients like reach
18:14
out to me and are like, I'm feeling so good, like I did
18:16
the arm challenge for twenty days in a row,
18:19
and just like building that community
18:21
and connection with people who are looking to become
18:23
the best version of themselves. I
18:26
have a random quick question right because I'm trying
18:28
to get back into like do
18:30
vo link for us. Yeah,
18:35
I know, we're just gonna keep you all the day. But why
18:37
did it that we fall off the wagon?
18:40
Like why you know, like when it feels so good
18:42
and you get in that mindset, why did we
18:44
fall off? Like maybe it's just me here
18:46
that's fallen off, But yeah,
18:49
I think I was speaking too earlier.
18:51
Is that like you have to start making
18:53
the goals seem achievable. I think people are really
18:55
good at doing fad diets
18:58
for a while and then like something just like
19:00
it's not maintainable. And my biggest thing
19:02
is like creating habits that you can maintain
19:04
for the rest of your life. So creating
19:07
like small things that you can achieve every
19:09
day. So, like I said, it seems really easy
19:11
when you say, oh, you just need to do twenty minutes
19:14
or thirty minutes of exercise a day, like
19:16
that seems really like digestible. You can bite that
19:18
off into it and go on a twenty minute walk, so
19:20
making those like super enjoyable
19:22
and making fitness fun. Like I tell a lot
19:24
of my clients download
19:26
your favorite podcasts and just put it on and go on a
19:28
walk. It's like you time, like you're making yourself
19:31
better. And I think people just fall off
19:33
because at one point it doesn't
19:35
seem super achievable, and that's why they just
19:37
like lose focus. Yeah,
19:40
and then so speaking of it too, I think, you know,
19:42
having a coach and having accountability
19:44
and having a community of people
19:46
that are there to support and help you is key as
19:49
well. And so I just want to make sure that everyone knows
19:51
how to get in touch with you. I've already talked about the website,
19:53
so coaching with Casey dot com, you
19:55
actually have a membership, a monthly workout
19:57
membership, and you also talked about, you know, these different
20:00
challenges that you have for your community,
20:02
which I think is so important to just help everyone
20:04
stay motivated and engaged. But how else
20:07
can people connect with you? Yeah,
20:09
so you can check me out on Instagram.
20:11
My user name is at casadilla,
20:13
So it's c A S Underscore,
20:16
U H Underscore Dilla d I
20:19
L l A. I've been wanting to change the name,
20:21
but Cole's like, it's so funny, you have to keep
20:23
it because people can messaging
20:26
me asking to buy the user name from me, and
20:28
he's like, you can't get rid of it, like it's so funny,
20:30
because I was like, I should do something like Casey Fitness,
20:33
and he was like, no, at Casadilla that you
20:35
gotta keep it. So it's funny, but hopefully
20:37
it sticks out in people's brains. Yeah,
20:40
and then I have like my email on my website, so
20:42
if people go to my website Coaching with Casey
20:44
dot com, they can reach out to me through email
20:47
or Instagram and those are the
20:49
easiest ways. That's
20:52
great, I for one will be following up
20:54
after this recording. I am all about this
20:56
arm challenge, so sign me up. I'm with you stuff
20:58

23:53

23:56
say Casey was incredible.
23:58
I love a go get a woman. She was just so
24:01
authentic and transparent and
24:03
just relatable. He was just talking about
24:05
how she was sucking in for photos and how you
24:08
look at those photos on Instagram and you're like wow,
24:10
like she's got it all. It was just so real
24:12
and I just love that about her. How real she was.
24:16
Yeah, that's when I was telling you, guys, my realness
24:18
is the ig that I don't care about the
24:20
photos, so there's no sucking in happening.
24:23
So if you want to see not in good photos
24:25
go to yeah,
24:29
I mean. And then also just I love how
24:31
like her approach to health and fitness and just you know,
24:33
focusing more on the consistency and less
24:35
on trying to be perfect. And it's so good
24:38
to hear that her and Cole like
24:40
really have a partnership, like they're
24:42
in it to win it together, just as
24:44
you know she was talking about. She supports
24:47
him with what he's doing with the Washington football
24:49
team, he supports her with you
24:51
know, her business. And it's just so important
24:53
because there's this whole quote out there that says that you're
24:55
the average of the five people that you're around the most,
24:58
and so when you're significant other has back
25:00
and you all are a power couple, like I truly believe
25:02
that they are, then I feel like the opportunities
25:05
are in less for you because you have one another and
25:07
you can really excel together. And I just love
25:10
that partnership because they are
25:12
both powerful people doing great
25:14
things, but they're doing it together and in support
25:17
of one another. So I love that absolutely.
25:20
Man. I was like amen when she said
25:22
to basically not be so hard in yourself, like
25:25
the make the goals achievable, digestible
25:27
bite size, small goals, go for a twenty minute
25:29
walk, take it as your me time, listen to your podcasts.
25:31
I tell my stuff that all the time. I'm like, if I can just
25:34
get on the bike for ten minutes, that is something today,
25:36
and just to not meat myself up over it. So I was
25:38
just like a man gar, I'll do the same. Before
25:40
we get into events, we want to give you a brief football
25:43
update. The Washington football team is a reloading
25:45
for the twenty twenty one season, starting with free
25:47
agency. New talent from around the leg
25:49
has been brought in and here's a few notable ones
25:52
that we wanted to mention. Yeah, so definitely
25:54
a lot has been going on. It's been cool,
25:57
like reading the newspaper. But Jay,
25:59
you mentioned it at the top of the show. We signed Ryan Fitzpatrick,
26:01
who will be joining the quarterback competition
26:04
here at Washington. We also picked up wide
26:06
receiver Curtis Samuel and it's Samuel,
26:08
not Samuel's, so no, we are not related.
26:11
I just want to put that out there. So
26:14
he will be reunited with his Ohio State
26:17
teammate Terry McLaurin. I literally
26:19
cannot wait to see them together, just their
26:21
chemistry and just kind of see on that dynamic.
26:24
And then we also grabbed first rounder cornerback
26:26
William Jackson the third from the Beagles. So I'm
26:29
really excited about these top picks. And then obviously
26:31
there are others, but these were the like you said, the
26:33
notable mentions. Yeah, I think
26:35
it's pretty cool that the undisputed Skip Bayliss
26:38
he's put on Twitter I now
26:40
fear the Washington football team. That's
26:42
pretty cool, and that he loves that we signed wide
26:45
receiver Curtis Samuel. It sounds
26:47
like he is saying, this is exactly
26:49
what we needed. You know. Samuel
26:51
fills a strong need for speed for us. In
26:53
fact, in the twenty seventeen Combine,
26:56
he ran in the forty yard dash of four point
26:58
three one seconds. I'm
27:00
excited to see McLaurin and Samuel in the
27:02
same offense. Cannot wait. We've
27:06
got some speed on our team. I think
27:08
how many fast people we have? The fast and
27:11
also Terry McLaurin, I believe,
27:13
put on his Instagram when the signing
27:16
was announced. It was basically a picture
27:18
both of them with our jersey swaps from the Panthers game
27:21
and they in the caption was we used to talk in
27:23
our dorm and dream about this moment, and now
27:25
they're back on the same team. So just like that post
27:27
was gaming chills and I'm really excited
27:29
for them and for us as fans.
27:32
We will have a lot more football to talk about
27:35
as we gear up in the off season and we're
27:37
reloading for the twenty twenty season and the draft is
27:39
coming up into April. So last talk about here
27:41
in a while. But before we get into that, I want to ask
27:43
Stephanie, what about our real events. Sure,
27:46
we are wrapping up Women's History Month. Our
27:48
last event is Monday, March twenty ninth.
27:51
It's based about economic empowerment
27:53
for us, and so we've got three
27:56
DMV women owned businesses.
27:59
Can't wait for everyone to meet them talk to them,
28:01
and then we're going to do a strength training workout of
28:03
course to go with being eken on the powerhouses.
28:06
So that will wrap up our Women's History Month. Absolutely
28:10
love that. And you know what, Stephanie, I love the WOW
28:12
events because they are so
28:15
comprehensive in topics, right,
28:17
So, yes, we want to talk about health and fitness
28:19
and wellness in the SPA days and football
28:21
and all of that, But you also have people
28:24
coming in talking about the importance of your
28:26
bank account and being financially literate.
28:29
I mean, I think that's so important because sometimes we forget
28:31
about those things because we just don't talk about
28:33
money a lot. And then also
28:36
making us kind of we're talking
28:38
to talk with then walking the walk where we're actually going
28:40
to be working out together, right, so it's not just saying,
28:42
hey, this is what you need to do, but hey, come join us and
28:44
let's do it together. And so I'm
28:47
really looking forward to the events for twenty
28:49
twenty one. So great job, Stephanie. Actually the
28:51
one this week we had creating Change with Love,
28:54
it was so impactful, just
28:56
talking about how as women we
28:59
can create that change around us through our different
29:01
love vibrations are kind words, and it
29:03
was such a great event. So yes,
29:06
looking for more like that. Ye love
29:08
that. Yes, I mean, love is such a powerful
29:11
vibration. And you know there's all this talk.
29:13
If you just our love and send out love, then
29:15
you're going to receive it back and so much
29:17
more as well. So let's be love.
29:20
Ladies. Got all
29:22
the fields from this show. Today, I'm like, I need to go do an
29:24
arm workout. I need to send love vibrations
29:26
out in the world. Everything today, well
29:29
that is going to do it for us. Thank you so much for joining
29:32
us here on the while where we connect and empower women through
29:34
sports. Huge thanks for our partner, Fresh Fine
29:36
Wine. Till next time, Hi ladies.
