For years, people from all over the world have been coming to Ashland the Henry Clay Estate to learn more about the 19 th century politician known to history as the Great Compromiser. But starting in 2020 they’ve also been exposed to the not so virtuous side of this famous Kentuckian. Henry Clay – Popular Statesman AND Slaveholder.
