I sometimes I think this podcast should be called We Have Ways Of Making You Listen, it’s really that addictive. The podcast covers WW2, telling the stories of the people, events, places and so much more. It’s not a linear telling from start to finish but rather touches and explores all facets of the conflict.Al and James are a fantastic duo who know the subject incredibly well and their rapport and friendship shines through. James Holland is a WW2 historian - there’s something about listening to someone who truly knows a subject and can dig deep into it’s many layers that really elevates the experience. Al Murray is the ultimate enthusiast and really understands his stuff too. You might know him better as a comedian and, whilst he is a funny chap, he isn’t trying to be funny here, he’s talking about a subject he really loves and is passionate about. That said this podcast is far from dry and both hosts are excellent and charismatic. My son is becoming a bit of a WW2 buff himself and enjoys writing stories set in the war, hearing the testaments and human drama of the soldiers on the front, the commanders, the civilians and more has been great for him too.If you’re into WW2 this is a must listen. If you’re not, listen anyway and remember all those who gave so much for us.
