In two days time, on 17 December, we mark the beginning of the "O Antiphons", the seven jewels of our liturgy. The O Antiphons, which date back to the fourth century, are recited each day until Christmas Eve.These antiphons address Christ with seven magnificent Messianic titles, based on the Old Testament prophecies and types of Christ. The Church recalls the variety of the ills of man before the coming of the Redeemer. Some Christian families gather around their Nativity scene on the 7 days leading up to Christmas and recite the daily O Antiphon together. Some people add these prayers to their daily Rosary, or recite them after Mass. What a great way to live this final octave of Christmas.Today's feature is a podcast to help you recite the O Antiphons daily, featuring the beautiful voices of the Missionaries of God's Love Sisters from Australia!
