Art is the language of the soul, and while it can be interpreted in a variety of ways depending on the individual, do we dismiss the artist's intentions? It would be simple to enjoy a work of art if we divorced it from its creator, but at the end of the day, the pieces we adore are merely an extension of the artist's mind. We can project whatever we want onto a piece, but only the artist knows what their original intentions were. Looking at art through an intersectional lens and interpreting it from an informed perspective will only add nuance to a work; after all, art is only a window into an artist's mind and values.
