David Vassilaros is Director of Health Care Reform & Regulatory Affairs at Capital Blue Cross where he leads a cross-functional team of experts in compliance, outreach, and strategy efforts related to the new health care reform law. 

Vassilaros also works as the company’s liaison to the Pennsylvania Insurance Department for a wide range of regulatory and policy issues, and serves on the Employee Benefits Committee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Vassilaros left private law practice to join the health insurance industry in 2008 as part of the Business Strategy Unit, and has since been involved with key clinical and sales initiatives. 

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (magna cum laude) from Muhlenberg College, Vassilaros attended the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is currently licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and resides in Mechanicsburg, Pa., with his wife and four sons, where he coaches soccer and volunteers with the Boy Scouts.
