On this week’s “You’ve Got This,” I talk with Mary Kaarto about how raising kids has changed over the years. Mary is a retired award-winning editor and former freelance writer for the Houston Chronicle. She and her husband enjoy their lives together every day, no matter how exciting or mundane! They have one amazing daughter who is a military wife and mom of the world’s best grandkids. While waiting for her husband to retire, she writes books, volunteers through several ministries, read loads of books, rock the house down listening to some of my favorite artists (Bruce Springsteen is #1!), and gives heartfelt smiles to everyone she sees.
“The world itself has changed since my daughter’s birth three decades ago,” Mary said. “My heart goes out to parents of kids of all ages today because of school shootings, online bullying and gender identity issues. … It can be difficult for parents to keep up with all of these things plus apps and other online concerns.”
