Patrick welcomes Chris Agnew, a freight broker and early investor in Bitcoin. Chris explains that his journey started well before the first block was ever mined. He saw the financial crisis play out while in college in 2008 — nearly destroying the U.S. economy and taking his family’s 20 year old restaurant business along with it. It was then that Chris began to realize how inadequate and mis-aligned the U.S. and global financial systems truly were. The way Chris sees it, Bitcoin is the exact opposite. It functions in a completely free, de-centralized market, with no incentives, alterior motives, or inadequacies attached. Bitcoin truly is a free market system that will change the world in a massive way.
