RATING
There are some interesting stories on this podcast and I try to listen with an open mind, however but what I really dislike about the podcast is the implication that all disease is caused by poor food choices. Not only is this nutribollocks, but it is very insensitive to people who have a chronic illness. The food is medicine ideology is a very harmful rhetoric indeed. I'm a fan of a plant based diet - it generally improves health and it is better for the planet and the animals. I'm confident that a plant based diet can reverse Type 2 diabetes, help with weight loss, and prevent heart disease. But, can a plant based diet improve autoimmune conditions and the like? In the majority of cases the answer is a resounding no. Why? Because the disease is not caused by diet in the first place. This host means well but she has become more and more dogmatic in her insistence that ALL disease can be healed by plants. This simply isn't the case and there is no scientific evidence for the effectiveness of a plant based diet in the management of most chronic diseases. In fact where there is 'evidence' it's often based on pseudoscience. I would really like to hear from some guests who have tried a whole food plant bsed diet and it hasn't worked for their condition. The recent podcast on autism was very controversial. Autism doesn't need to be healed!
