RATING
seven minutes before the end, I'm hearing someone talking about looking for background artifacts in audio recordings, and really enjoying how these previous episodes have had Foley background aural settings, but nothing that is actually live to the the recording itself. well done.
this mini episode hits home kinda hard. I've always had a deep appreciation of Pete Seger, and just hearing this more personal tale of how he was seen and remembered by a friend means a lot to me. almost like not getting disappointed by meeting a hero. I'm very grateful that the even though the topic is heavy, it's full of the reminders that we can only do so much for our friends, and showing up when we have the chance in whatever capacity they need is the least and most we can do.
Years later, I keep coming back tomrelisten to this podcast. Vaguely haunting sci-fi narrative peppered with dark and dry wit. One of the first podcasts I ever listened to that are more radio-drama than 'somengiy with a microphone and maybe a guest.' It set the bar pretty high for me, and thanks to Sayer, I very much scrutinize if I'm listening to a show because I enjoy it, or if I'm listening because I hope it will get better. I never had to hope this one would get better. 💚
