A super fun and light-hearted listen that manages to bring a lot of depth to its youthful characters while still making them believable for their age. This one-person production has distinct voices for all the characters, solid sound design, and fast-moving dialogue that deftly navigates a new mystery of its magical world in each episode. I love the characters and their interactions, how they handle complex issues and conflicts in ways that are age-appropriate but surprisingly thoughtful. I'm excited to learn more about the unique world of Ylelmore through the charming investigations of these adventurous friends and their podcast-within-a-podcast.

I love how Season 1 starts out with a single narrator, feeling small and isolated like Roger is at Theta. Then it grows into such a broad cast of unique, loveable characters with their own complex network of relationships. It's all about these flawed and wonderful people, and the listener comes to care for them as they do each other. I adore the kindness and hope that suffuses this whole show. <3

I was immediately hooked by the premise of this show, and the execution did not disappoint. Each spirit's story is fascinating and often touching on its own, but also contributes to a solid ongoing plotline with several moving parts. I love how the scope and style of the narration evolves as Leo gets farther in their research - it's a great example of form following content in a way that feels very organic. I'm here for the ride, and I can't wait to see how the mysteries unfold.
