Steven Prince makes his return to the Hall H Show and talks to host, Aaron Nabus about his comic book, Monster Matador: Tango of the Matadors (now on Kickstarter until May 5 2021), Meltdown Comics, Chow Yun Fat, Elvis Presley, and so much more!
Aaron Nabus here and welcome to episode 102 of the Hall H Show! Joining me on this episode is someone that I’ve been wanting to have on the show for a while now, the multi-talented Jenapher Zheng! We first met in person briefly at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 when I was on a panel with her good friend (and episode 66 guest), Kaitlyn Fae. Both Jenapher and Kaitlyn are also podcast hosts on the Pangeekery podcast, where I was a guest in 2020. Jenapher is an actor, gamer, podcaster, Twitch streamer, visual artist and writer. Speaking of writing, a short movie she wrote, called Borrowed Light was recently fully funded on Seed & Spark (the campaign ends on April 14, 2021) and will start production soon. Also...congrats to Jenapher for recently getting 1,000 followers on her Twitch channel! We cover a wide range of topics like her movie, her geek origin story and creative journey, and so much more! During our conversation, she was willing to be a bit vulnerable, touching on childhood bullying, being diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, and also reading a poem she recently wrote that encapsulated her feelings concerning the murders of six Asian women in Atlanta, Georgia in March of 2021. It’s conversations like these that keep me motivated to continue sharing stories of these incredible creators that I’ve been fortunate enough to meet. Enjoy! ~Aaron
We are happy to have our previous guest from episode 79 (which was recorded at San Diego Comic-Con 2019), the writer and creator of the comic book Duplicant, Karla Nappi! Growing up, she was a huge fan of shows like The X-Files and movies like Silence of the Lambs, which I’m sure had an influence on the darker side of Duplicant, a very entertaining comic book that also has shades of the movie Minority Report. Karla is currently doing a Kickstarter for issue #4 of Duplicant (which ends on March 3rd, 2021) and I’m happy that she's back to talk about it. Welcome back to the show Karla! ~Aaron
Hey Hall H Show listeners! Aaron Nabus here and I’m excited to share with you, episode 100 (which was recorded in December of 2020) which features co-host, Alex Benedicto and our good friend, Jason Lethert from HeroJournalism. It's no surprise that this one clocks in at almost four hours! It's been a while since the three of us has gotten together so we had a lot to talk about, such as: Our origin stories. Conventions and the pandemic. Some of our favorite Comic-Con and Hall H Show memories. And more! Who would have thought that our little podcast would still be around since it made its debut in October of 2016 with our inaugural guest, Tony B. Kim from Hero Within! Thank you to all of our guests and to our listeners for continuing to support us. Cheers to 100 more episodes! ~Aaron
