Dr. Richard Whatmore is a historian who specializes in intellectual history. Currently, he is Professor of Modern History at the University of St Andrews. He is the editor-in-chief of History of European Ideas.Whatmore has published five books about history. His first book, "Republicanism and the French Revolution," was published in 2000.
