Saladin Ahmed

Saladin Ahmed is a comic book writer and an author of science fiction and fantasy poetry and prose.Ahmed currently writes the comic book series "Miles Morales: Spider-Man." Previously, he has written for Marvel Comics "Black Bolt," "Exiles," and "The Magnificent Ms. Marvel." He is also the co-creator of the comic series "Abbott," the first book of which was nominated for a Bram Stoker Award and was a Michigan Notable Book. His first comic, "Black Bolt," won the Will Eisner award.Ahmed's fiction has been published in anthologies and magazines including Strange Horizons, Orson Scott Card's InterGalactic Medicine Show, Clockwork Phoenix 2 and Beneath Ceaseless Skies. His first book, "Throne of the Crescent Moon," was published in 2012 and was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Novel and won the Locus Award for Best First Novel. He has also written nonfiction for NPR Books, Salon, and The Escapist.Ahmed received his M.A. in English from Rutgers University, and his M.F.A. in Poetry from Brooklyn College.
