I grew up with Reading Rainbow, so the nostalgia of Mr. Burton reading a story is nearly irresistible
How do you review a podcast that is without a doubt one that hits all the points. Production? Check. Host? Check. Nostalgia? Check. Fantastic books and stories in every episode. You can listen to this show at night as Mr. Burton lulls you to sleep, or listen to them when you're having a rough day to pick you up, or simply because you want to binge a fantastic show. Minor side recommendation, LeVar Burton also narrates for the book "The Good Neighbor" which is essentially him narrating the life of Mr. Fred Rogers. How much more wholesome can you possibly get‽
Does what it says on the tin. One of the warmest, friendliest voices in the world (who helped teach me to love reading growing up, of course) reads short fiction to you. He reads a pretty good variety, although he tends toward SciFi and Fantasy -- which is fine by me. If you grew up on Reading Rainbow, this podcast is like hearing the opening music all over again. A great author to do would be the amazing Connie Willis, incidentally. Her novels probably get more attention than her short stories, but her Christmas collect(s... sort of) is filled with fun stories, usually a bit sci-fi, for the season and almost any would make a great holiday podcast.
