These are really good stories, and the production is amazing.
Kinda like really, really OK chain restaurant pizza—Dominos, Papa Johns, or Blaze—in that
Great anthology horror series with a cool wraparound storyline. Recommended!
This was a binge for me. The stories were interesting, the caretaker was the right amount of creepy. I would easily watch this as a tv show.
S3: with one foot solidly in the cartoon series “Over the Garden Wall” and the other foot in the Video Game “Limbo” - this third season should be a slam dunk of both horror and adventure, but there’s not enough story to sustain the second half of the narrative and “Devil’s Night” slows to a predictable crawl. If you love the first few episodes but feel your interest waning, jump to the last two episodes, you won’t miss anything and the ending is worth the abbreviated ride.
Love the variety of creepy stories and the different main characters we follow. I'm not a big fan of the boy's tale (the last in the trilogy) - the ending isn't very satisfying for me, but I love the woman we follow in the 2nd set.
I really like the concept of standalone seasons (like American Horror Story), and the plot of each season looks intriguing on paper. The writing is distinctive and sharp and the voice acting is crisp and characters are strongly conveyed. However, I just feel that episodes drag on. There is usually just one voice to listen to for the most part, so it's akin to being told a story rather than experiencing it. If narrated audio fiction is your thing then this is probably a top drawer show but for me, I eventually had to drop it.
First season was okay. There was some nice humor. The third season was horrible in all respects. It was poorly acted, over-produced (the sound effects were annoying and distracting rather than enhancing) and the story horribly written.Second season was genuinely scary, the cast was great, and the story was well written.
Well done season (2), I feel like the final episode kinda fell short.
