Joining me today on this road running interview is Half Marathon And Long Distance Runner Carlie Pipe.

She competes internationally, flying the flag for Barbados. She describes herself as an athlete, podcast host, tired parent, professional writer and copywriter, Barbadian, fit chick, professional, ice-cream lover.

I know I am in it over my head, so I’m glad when you are joining my road run with this powerhouse of a woman.

I got to meet Carlie on a ‘Time Out’ for me in Barbados. There is of course never a time out for the Running Streak I am on, so I was bound to bump into people.

Carlie is admittedly in an entirely different league and we are talking about her training and how she went from ½ marathon to representing her country. For her there is downtime and I feel it is important for anyone to know what the training and rest cycle is – no matter the runner you are.

Please forgive my panting, this is a four-mile run around Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados and I had to keep pace with Carlie who is definitely fitter than I am. I mean, she is currently the fastest woman in Barbados… and I am keeping (just about) pace.  I already was grateful for the Biker-gang that drove past us at 00:04:50 minutes in as it gave me a little breather from talking.

But I let you be the judge of it all 😉.

Let’s Go!

Day 2,927 of my Running streak

Runners Quote  00:12:22 – 00:12:42
“I like half. Because training for a marathon …, it's really more training for a marathon that’s more difficult, because we would start the runs at 2:00 in the morning. I mean to avoid the Sun obviously. that means I got to get up you know at 1:00 in the morning and it’s quite extreme with kids and after that I am super cranky all day.” – Carlie Pipe explaining her preference for half marathons.

#3MileRunDown is a way for me to talk with equally enthusiastic people from all sorts of backgrounds. My aim is to tap into their knowledge achieved through paths life took them. We may pound the miles together and it combines, and it may bring us even closer, that being said it’s for each something else that sets us on this path.

This is an open invitation to find value and knowledge in each different runner and run, because no life paths are the same and no three-mile run is either.
