The Initiative on Social Entrepreneurship, School of Business, in partnership with the School of Ecumenics, the Trinity Entrepreneurial Society and Ashoka Ireland were delighted to welcome Thorkil Sonne to speak at the 3rd Social Entrepreneurship Speaker Series event held on 14th March 2011. As reported on recently in the Harvard Business Review and Wired Magazine, Thorkil, founder of the Specialist People Foundation (www.specialistpeople.com) is working towards revolutionising work opportunities for people with Autism/ASD within the IT software testing market. Through his own personal experience, he is transforming how society currently perceives autism - by proving through his organisation that not only can autistic people function fully in the business world, but they can thrive as specialists in certain types of IT software work -offering an isolated population the opportunity for active and fulfilling lives. In this podcast, Thorkil speaks about his work, and shares his experience as a Social Entrepreneur.
