Okay, that's some scary stuff! That sound design is spectacular, I almost thought my ear buds was either broke or would brake very soon. One again: Spectacular!
A great-sounding horror anthology in the vein of The Crypt Keeper and others, the producers of Bad Vibes (of which there are many) put a lot of effort into making an amazing audio experience. You won't be disappointed!
Strange show, and not in an appealing way. QCode's attempt at an anthology fails to leave the impact that it desires. The biggest qualm I have is the unnecessary, awkward and odd framing mechanism of the character Mr. Boogey. He introduces and signs off every episode but adds nothing to them. It seems like an attempt to create a quirky tone but I simply found it silly. The stories are unremarkable and not particularly well told. Unlike, say, The Truth (another anthology series, and a great one at that), episodes are not memorable even immediately after listening. With one-off stories it's vital that they strike a chord in the time they have yet I never came away feeling like I'd been drawn into the world desribed, never felt attached to the characters.I'm not sure if the handful of episodes were a one off experiment or the first of potentially more seasons but I won't be checking out any further releases.
Absolutely loving this podcast!I can't get enough! This is my first podcast as well ♥
4-4.5 stars. An anthology horror series where the sum is stronger than its parts. Apart from being the thing that connects the different stories, Mr. Boogey did not play an important part in any of them.
Very well done but there are many podcasts in pretty much the same vein.
Fantastic one-offs, really fun and creepy. Sound is fantastic and so is the writing and the acting. Remainds me of the horror episodes of "The Truth". Really recommendable.
This podcast is well done, but the horror style is a little over-the-top (think Tales from the Crypt). For me, too scary is just not scary. I didn't like the host character that tells stories in exchange for fear and appears at the beginning of each episode. Just stick to the horror fiction.
Thought provoking. Justin McElroy is perfect. Loved the different stories every week.
Wasn't what I was looking for. Not horror/scary, not the top tier story I associate QCode with. Voice acting and effects were great. But I was hoping for something more intense. I only listened up to episode 4, but seemed like it was just an anthology series of supernatural tales.
