Evan Welling Thomas III is a journalist, historian, and author.Thomas was a reporter, writer, and editor at Newsweek for 24 years. Prior to that, he was at Time, and he began his career in journalism at The Bergen Record in northeastern New Jersey. He was a regular panelist on the television show "Inside Washington" for 20 years, and he has taught writing and journalism at Harvard and Princeton.Thomas has published ten books. His first book, "The Wise Men: Six Friends and the World They Made," was published in 1986.Thomas received his B.A. from Harvard University and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
