Whether you like reading, learning, or just philosophizing with buds, this is a must-listen podcast! Listening to Tyler and Hannah is like sitting down for a coffee with two old friends. They strike a great balance of levity and sincerity that invites me back episode after episode. This is one of my favorite podcasts and hands-down one of the best indie podcasts out there.
Between Lewis and Lovecraft is an amazing show! Hannah and Tyler are fun, informative, and have a great chemistry between them! The production value is superb, and the actors and readers they use are first-rate! Between Lewis and Lovecraft is a must-listen!
Love this podcast! The backstories behind some of my fave (and not fave;)) authors are so cool. Hannah and Tyler put so much work into the research of these folks and their banter is fun. I enjoy their perspectives on the lives of these "legends" and how their stories help demystify them.
Perfect for readers, writers, and those interested in the often bonkers lives of notable authors, BL&L combines exceptional journo research from Hannah, informed input and interesting opinions from Tyler, and a whole lot of unexpected humor all wrapped up into one podcast about books and the weirdos who write them. The hosts have incredible chemistry, the production quality is stellar, the inside jokes are bananas, and if you don't find yourself smiling through an entire hour-long episode there's something fundamentally wrong with you. Their interviews with emerging, established, and not dead (!) writers and creators are an added bonus! 10/10 would recommend. This is legit the only podcast I listen to.
There are many informative podcasts out there that are dry-as-dust boring, and even more fun ones that are short on facts and accuracy. A show Like "Between Lewis and Lovecraft" that is both well researched AND really entertaining is of unicorn rarity! Hannah has a voice like honey, is immaculate in her research (she is a journalist) and an infectious sense of humor coupled with a perfect professional delivery. And if you think all committed Christians are sanctimonious bluenoses, Ty, with his hilarious fake voices and self-deprecating humor will soon change your mind - and he has the writing chops to back up his opinions - check out his Penny Lich fiction and you'll see what I mean . Between them, they have yet to put out a single show that is anything but brilliant. About the only bad thing I can say about this show is that lately they have been making noises about rebooting their early works to bring them in line with the style of their later output I really hope they drop this idea... the earlier eps may not be quite as slick as the more recent ones but they have a real charm of their own and should not be messed with! This small negative apart, a completely fantastic podcast... if you have any interest in literature, it's one you;d be crazy to miss!
