This chapter is not a fairy tale concerning evil. Are there dark powers, forces at play? The Bible says that there are. Chapter 13 and 14 go together. We were talking about Babylon, the kingdom of Babylon and the spiritual aspect of Babylon. The king of Babylon which is a person and the spirit of Babylon which is false religion. A commentary on Isaiah 13-14 is Jeremiah 50-51 and Revelation 17-18. All six of those chapters speak about the same topic of a leader, a religion, and a place. We live in a world where technology is on the move, updates are common. What's interesting is ancient pyramids we cannot recreate. What we have today is an outcropping of what already existed. Think: we have all this technology but are we smarter? Based on the education levels of people leaving elementary to college, they are less than those who graduated before them. We see very little in this world because we’re bound by our sight. The Christian life is one that transcends our sight to go beyond into the spiritual realm.
