"Hey everyone, welcome to Live Renewable Podcast Episode 1, the show diving into the inter-relationship between worldwide environmental incidents and human developments. I am Bryan Park, your host, who is currently a freshman at UNC-Chapel Hill double majoring in Business  Administration and Sustainability. The show explores various aspects of renewable energies and deals with the question, ‘What types of RENEWABLE ENERGY ADOPTION is most effective BY THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR IN JEJU ISLAND, SOUTH KOREA and how do we foster the adoption?’”

Abstract:
Jeju Island, a tourism destination, has received an increased number of individuals since 2007 due to the relaxation of visa regulations for Chinese groups and individuals. The increased tourism activities in jeju have a direct impact on the demand for energy production and consumption. The high demand for energy for residential utility has led to companies’ reliance on petroleum products to enhance customer satisfaction. Despite the increased energy demand, hospitality businesses can implement strategies aimed at adopting renewable energy sources that enhances energy and environment conservation. Currently, the approximate global energy consumption by hospitality business is 44%. Study findings reveal that mounting solar panels above residential rooftops would result in solar energy generation amounting to 55.56 Mwh essential for domestic and lighting use. Since, Jeju island experience a reliable supply of solar radiation annually and wind blow, the study recommends hotel buildings to generate clean power from solar radiation and wind.
