New Time presents a groundbreaking “First Person Immersive” (FPI) audio drama for our times. “Calais 2037” centres on Marsha Everlyn (Tanya Fear), top advisor to Joan Harrison (Jenny Agutter), the leader of His Majesty’s Official Opposition, currently living in exile with the rest of her party on the shores of Europe State. With more and more English political refugees arriving off the ferry every day, and with the arrival in Calais of Felix Harrison (Harry Lloyd), Joan Harrison’s demagogic son, both Marsha and the party at large find themselves caught between country and conscience in a high stakes game of love, loyalty, deception and betrayal.

Cast: Tanya Fear (Kick Ass 2, Spotless, A Moving Image), Jenny Agutter (Call the Midwife, The Railway Children), Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones, The Theory of Everything), Alexander Cobb (Indian Summers, Mr. Selfridge), Samuel West (Darkest Hour, Notting Hill), Fiona button (Lip Service, Grantchester), Angus Wright (The Iron Lady, Flowers), Shane Taylor (Band of Brothers), James Fleet (Four Weddings and a Funeral), William Hope (Aliens).

"Top of the line. Just go listen - you can´t let go till it´s finished."

"Aside from the political intrigue and spycraft, the longing for a country you can’t return to is a theme that is beautifully expressed here and I commend the ability of the creators to tap into that via performance and dialogue that's confined to Calais. We have no idea what England is like in 2037 but it doesn’t matter. Dream or nightmare, it’s home. And of course the production quality is impeccable. From the waves upon the shores of Calais to the drone of vehicles and the blast of ship horns making for an unnerving score, this show is entirely successful at immersing you in the place that it is creating. Also, I Vow To Thee My Country, when tied to this subject material, is just one of those songs that’s guaranteed to stab you in the heart."
