Hello and welcome to the choosing
0:02
happy podcast. I'm Heather masters,
0:05
and this is 100 days to
0:07
happy. The stay seven.
0:09
I want to apologize for day six. It's
0:11
taking a little bit longer to pull together, but
0:13
it will be there. With the full
0:16
lens meditation. Where.
0:19
Quickly drawing close to
0:21
Christmas. It's a few days away
0:23
now. And so the next four
0:25
or five days. I'm going to focus
0:28
on Christmas on holidays.
0:31
And I wanted to
0:34
start. With a bit of reflection.
0:37
On how we can get through the season choosing
0:40
happy. So join me.
0:42
On day one. Of
0:45
choosing a happy Christmas. Christmas
0:57
is such a strange time
0:59
of year. When we have all of these
1:01
holidays and we make these
1:03
great intentions to connect
1:06
with family, to reconnect with friends.
1:09
To reconnect with loved ones
1:11
that we haven't been in touch with
1:13
for a while. It's that time of
1:15
the year when we hopefully.
1:18
Stretch out an olive branch.
1:20
I've got a suspicion that this year is a
1:22
little bit different. There's
1:24
massive divide around
1:27
the world and in different
1:29
countries. And families
1:31
are being separated through
1:34
their views. Through. There.
1:37
Different beliefs. Around
1:40
what's safe. What? Isn't safe.
1:42
What's right. What's wrong. And
1:45
what I want to offer. In this
1:47
first. Short episode
1:50
is to reconsider. And
1:52
to look to unite because
1:54
that's really what Christmas and
1:56
the season is all about. Reconnection
1:59
reuniting, putting
2:02
aside. All of
2:04
your. Disagreements
2:07
putting aside. All
2:09
of the things that you think
2:11
separate each other. Ultimately
2:15
everyone wants to share
2:17
love, share connection, catch
2:19
up with who people are at the heart
2:21
of them. I catch up with the personalities.
2:24
Really enjoy Take that time out
2:26
to do something different too.
2:29
Take time away from work. Take
2:31
time to. Spend
2:33
quality time with people. I
2:36
think. Holidays have become
2:38
an obligation more than
2:41
doing something that we want to do.
2:44
And even if it is an obligation, we still
2:47
have a choice to say that we want
2:49
to do it. We get to do it.
2:52
And I think thinking about getting to do
2:54
it is really important at this time.
2:56
The people that we love may not be there
2:59
next year, irrespective
3:01
of how we feel about
3:03
their views and their choices. It's
3:06
a time of. Putting all of
3:08
that to one site and seeing.
3:11
Out loud that you love them taking
3:13
the time to say out loud that you value
3:16
them. I think it's a time of
3:18
really looking at our relationships.
3:21
Looking at our relationships with
3:23
our family, with our friends and
3:25
reevaluating them. If
3:28
there is such a divide and your family
3:31
just won't have anything to do with you
3:33
are not going to invite you round,
3:35
then it's time to re-evaluate
3:38
how. Solid that relationship
3:40
is One of the things that the last couple of
3:42
years has shown us is
3:44
who is there for you when
3:47
the chips are down, who
3:49
is standing beside you?
3:51
And. Helping you through
3:54
what you're going through while you support
3:56
them. It's
3:59
a good time. To take that
4:01
pause and really reevaluate
4:03
the relationships and decide which relationships.
4:06
You want going forward? it
4:09
doesn't mean that you. Uh,
4:11
negative to those who no
4:13
longer want you there. Send them love.
4:16
Leave a little bit of a door jar
4:19
so that if they change their minds, they can
4:21
come back. Decide
4:24
how you want to do that. It's
4:26
not necessarily about closing doors,
4:28
but it is about holding your own boundaries.
4:32
Standing in your own truths. And.
4:34
Recognizing. Who
4:36
right now is right for you
4:39
to be in your life. Christmas
4:43
is also about expectations.
4:45
Our expectations of how things
4:48
should go get in the way when
4:50
life happens. I
4:53
love the phrase that when man
4:55
plans, God laughs. Often.
4:58
At Christmas in June the holidays.
5:02
The greatest plans we make.
5:04
Uh, Shift to one side
5:06
by circumstances, whether
5:08
it's weather that keeps us from
5:11
getting somewhere where the roots work
5:13
that calls us in to do that emergency
5:15
thing. Our expectations.
5:18
Often. Mean that when
5:20
things go wrong. We
5:22
are. Devastated. It's
5:25
a real game changer for us, rather
5:28
than going with the flow. And
5:31
if something goes wrong, Working
5:33
out how to make the best of it.
5:35
What's the lesson. How can
5:37
this be a positive thing for you?
5:41
This time of year is especially about
5:43
appreciation. Appreciating
5:46
what we have appreciating
5:48
the people around us. Appreciating
5:51
life itself. And depreciating
5:54
our relationship. With
5:56
spirits, whatever that means for
5:58
us, whether that's God, whether that's the universe.
6:01
Whether it's life force, whether it's the divine.
6:04
Appreciating that connection. And
6:07
this year for me, I
6:09
feel is the most important
6:12
time in my life. To focus
6:15
on that connection over
6:17
the next, not just. Christmas,
6:20
but over the next months and weeks
6:22
and years, As we go through these
6:24
many changes that are happening
6:26
around the world. Face
6:29
and connection. Is one of
6:31
the most. Powerful
6:33
ways to stay strong. To stay
6:35
positive. And to stay happy.
6:39
Raising your vibration to stay
6:41
happy. A lot potentially could
6:43
be a dark time. Is
6:46
what can make the difference, not just
6:48
to you. But to the world
6:50
around you and to the planet itself.
6:54
So let's focus on
6:56
choosing happy. Over
6:59
the next couple of weeks.
7:01
As we go through Christmas and
7:03
we go through the changes around
7:05
the world. Let's focus
7:08
on peace and love and
7:10
compassion. For those
7:12
who haven't seen and
7:14
we'll see. Uh, for
7:17
those who have seen. And
7:19
cons cope. For
7:22
those who struggle.
7:25
Through this time of year, as it is. And
7:28
who may struggle more. As
7:30
things change over the coming
7:32
months. Let's
7:35
pray for them. Have compassion for them.
7:38
Wish them well. Thank
7:42
you for listening. If you liked
7:44
this podcast, please share

7:55
and changing. Thank you again
7:57
so much for your support. And
8:00
tomorrow we'll have another episode
8:02
of the 100 days to happy.
8:05
Under Christmas theme. Thanks
8:08

8:10
masters. And this is the choosing
8:12
happy podcast.
