In this inaugural episode, I lay out the foundation for Collective Action In Isolation: we as people are working together even if we don't get to see each other. I analyze a few definitions of hope drawing on ideas from Elizabeth Andre's online lecture about hope and despair. Using these definitions to better understand hope we can make ourselves happier and more hopeful at home. Then I talk about how looking at helpfulness from a psychological perspective can help us understand how to help our communities during this pandemic. This episode was written and produced by Anderson Prater.
