Following financial scandals leading to major bankruptcies mechanisms aiming at controlling managers and protecting stockholders have been discussed and implemented. These encompass legal aspects as well as procedures framing financial practices and the giving of an account. Accordingly, new issues have been raised as to identifying, recording and measuring value. Value has stepwise been extended from financial to social and environment so as to enable accountability to all stakeholders. This course covers 8 topics relating to the financial aspects of corporate governance without being addressed to mere financial specialists.
