Each and every one of us has been born into different circumstances. We come into a home and are at the mercy of those who brought us into the home. For most of us the home we grow up into shapes us into the person we are to become. Some of that molding comes from loving parents or caregivers, but for some that definition comes from being put in a home where they are pushed to defy the odds and do differently than the pattern and example that they have seen. We become who we are because of the experiences and choices that cross our path. And yet for some born into adverse circumstances they find it difficult to break the cycle and defy the odds. They struggle to break the trap that they feel they have been born into and pursue greatness. So how is it then that we can pursue greatness no matter our circumstance no matter how many odds we must defy? How is it then we can become the small percentage that breaks the pattern, overcomes, and rises? How do we pursue greatness if our circumstances were far from great?
