#Blacklivesmatter brought an important conversation around supporting black businesses. In this episode, we explain the origins of Black Wall Street and how it represents an important time for the emergence of the “Black economy” in America. Exploring how during the present time, a lot of big companies and notable individuals lent their voices into supporting and uplifting this cause. A few made huge differences and others pretended to care. The education a lot of us received via social media about White-owned companies profiting from Black faces and list of Black-owned vs White-owned hair company was not left out. Finally, we gave a shout out to some of our favourite Black-owned businesses both in the UK and across the diaspora. Our girl Nylah Natural hooked us up with a 30% discount for all our listeners. We continue discussing the #BlackLivesMatter movement, particularly in the UK. We close the episode with disbelief, laughter and hope.To find out how you can support causes around the world for the fight against white supremacy, systematic racism & social injustice, please visit https://bit.ly/3f10qB8
Black Lives Matter is a topic that is close to our hearts which we discuss extensively in this episode. Touching on our personal experiences of race in the UK, we dissect what it means to be or not be an “ally”, black celebrities & influencers that have stood up for the cause, social media algorithms & hash tags that push the movement, the NFL, UCL & other organisations back tracking & finally the uncomfortable topic of race with a non-Black partner. To find out how you can support causes around the world for the fight against systematic racism & social injustice, please visit https://bit.ly/3f10qB8Correction: we mistakenly called Virgil Abloh the editor of British Vogue in this episode, when he is in fact the CEO of Off-White. Apologies for the mix-up, especially to the actual editor of BV. #blacklivesmatter #AhmaudArbery #GerorgeFloyd #BreonnaTaylor #BellyMujinga #dopeblackpods #PodsInColor #BlackPodMagic #supportblackpodcast #podcastuk #WeNeedToTalkAboutThis #Diasporadicals #runningwhileblack #birdingwhileblack #sleepingwhileblack #ThirdCultureKid #African #wocpod #realtalk #mentalhealth #ally #interracialcouples

We delve into the origin of the word “Chinese Virus” and how it links the black community, racism, Jungle justice & retaliation. And finally, we wrap up with the question: "But how can Africa stop being China's bitch?"
In this episode we’re talking food! From Africa’s West to East to South, food brings us together. Some people have said that the reason we have the novel coronavirus is because of wet markets in China where bats/pangolins are sold for human consumption. So, what weird things do you eat in your culture? We talked wine, mandazi, festival, biltong, swallows, Rolex, termites, meat, okra, fish eyes, Efo riro, chicken feet & mophane worms. We somehow also ended up talking about winter, betrayal, koala chlamydia & bias towards the Scottish!
