Wow. Just wow. Both seasons will make you cry in the best way. The story and the storytelling is AMAZING. Seriously so good.
It's heartbreaking, it's simple, it's fantastic. I'm so excited that it's coming back for more, even though I'm sure it's just going to make me cry again.
Just ended Directive let me say: I didn't expect it to end that way!A scifi story of a caretaker of passengers in stasis on a ship bound for a new place to colonize.A story of loneliness and basic human needs, that slowly crept under my skin.Highly recommend?
Directive immerses you in the of a man who has no friends, family or really anything to live for. Stuck under the wallows of debt from unemployment Frank gets asked to join a outer space escort mission with a twist. This story line with amazing audio production makes Directive a must listen for any Audio Drama fan!- Podcast Junkie
Yep.....Great story and acting....super audio!
DirectiveThank you! I'm glad you liked it. Stay tuned for more!
Put this off for far too long and binged season one the other day. The show works wonderfully in that context, immersing yourself in Frank’s descent as his lonely journey through space takes its toll. The solo space story is a crowded genre in audio drama (some inspired by this story no doubt) and it’s a great credit to the writing and performances that it stands out as fresh, immersive and ultimately heartbreaking. Can’t wait to crack into season 2.
Yup, definitely a polished, extremely well presented thought provoking unique story line. A brilliant cast, complex and interesting characters AND with a complete ending. What more could a listener want for? Go for it, you won't be disappointed 👍
DirectiveGlad you enjoyed it, can't wait to share more!
A very nicely done small sci-fi story that delves into the worries of being isolated and having to still perform the daily duties of life. The first season hit harder for me on an emotional level and the simple nature of it was rather refreshing and while I didn't love the second season it does however dive deeper into character building and the world. Give this show a listen!
Wow. This show made me feel intensely claustrophobic... but like, in a good way. The depiction of extreme isolation was just that well written, and flashbacks give an excellent sense of character development even when the mc is stuck alone for long stretches at a time. Incredible show.
My heart... just wow. I was so impressed by how much I came to care about Frank in such a short time.
The first season was amazing, and the approach they took in season 2 was just as remarkable. Crazy that you can care so much about characters in a podcast. My favorite fiction podcast.
With two seasons, each ~90 minutes long, this is a wonderful self-contained sci-fi story with themes of isolation/loneliness. I enjoyed how the story built as the main character's journey took its toll and his backstory was revealed, leading to a tragic outcome.
DirectiveThanks for the kind words (on my birthday no less!)
