A scary ride to the bottom of the ocean. The dialogue feels natural and the story has me hooked from the start.
Whoa. Just whoa. I started this show when it debuted, followed it weekly but life got busy around episode 6 and I just kinda left this show behind. The first few episodes didn't leave this huge impression on me so I stalled getting back into it. If I only knew. This supernatural story satisfies in ways most other supernatural audio dramas don't. Tense, Eerie, Claustrophobic, Mesmerizing. It reminds me of Michael Crichton's "Sphere" (the book, not the movie) - what a fantastic, wild ride. So happy I picked this one back up. Adding Down to my TOP 8 now!
Definitely Human are one of the most reliable podcast-mongers about. Am around half way through the season so far, and this new show is total B-movie fun. Big characters engage in power-plays, and there's a tense claustrophobia to it all, and the feeling that the Virgil might implode at any second. B-rill.
Perfection in audio drama.
When the Definitely Human team create a new Audio Drama, you know it will be an amazing experience. Sound design, plot twists, a sprinkling of humour and great character acting all come together to make this podcast a must listen. Then go back and rediscover Marscorp.
So enjoying all the twists and turns of this. Makes you want to shout at your screen like all the best horror flicks.
I found this podcast through Mars Corp which was an incredibly impressive story and this is much the same. Instead of a focus on comedy though this one is squarely set on thrilling and keeping you on edge which it does at every turn. The cast is excellent and the sound and production are as well.
Very gripping and in some places very disturbing. The acting is a little bit over-the-top in places, but this adds to the Saturday evening sci-fi show feel. Recommended.
Absolutely terrifying series. I did not expect it going in. You won't see it coming, either. I've had to pause an episode and stare in shock at multiple moments--and that's generally not something I do when listening to podcasts! Highly recommended.
The dialogue and characterization of this show is so impressive. I especially love Marion’s speeches. Charlie Dresden is another compelling character. The plot is well-paced, and there’s never a dull moment.I love the soundtrack!
A classic sci -fi horror tale that would fit right in with movies of the 80s, Down is a gripping series about an expedition into the unexplored depths. The cast is well-written and varied, brought to life by a solid array of voice acting.
Down is a fun, great podcast. The plot is engaging and the cast members are all excellent voice actors. The sound design is top notch, too. I wish the episodes were longer; they all go by so fast! Thanks for the great entertainment!
This scratched my itch of longing for something psychological and dark. It's quite a good production from start to end, with great character arcs and sound design. It's a unique take on underwater horror which focuses more on the psyche of the crew sent down to explore the depths. I felt like a part of the crew as I binged the episodes, going deeper into their personality and mental states as they went deeper into the darkness. It took me a bit to get used to the characters but I got attached to them by the end. The thrill aspect is done right, with every episode leaving me hungry for more.
Can't wait for another season. Great sci-fi podcast!
A very entertaining and interesting podcast. Good concept and it was captivating. It had some decent twists and turns and I was eager to finish the podcast, but I don’t think it was anything spectacular or remarkable.
Plumbing the full depths of horror, from the corporate to the cosmic. Short, punchy episodes keep you guessing and wanting to know more.
I just finished listening to this 24 part series. There is some great acting and storytelling. Some of the images created in my mind are really vivid. I think my main problem with this audio drama is how it's labeled. It's sci-fi, but I think it should say psychological horror as well. Some of the stuff that was happening in the first ten episodes turned me off a bit because I was expecting more journey to the center of the earth. But once I realized more the genre this story was in I began to enjoy it. Give it a listen. It's a good ride.
Every episode has me on the edge of my seat. I can't find the twists ahead of time and I've binged through the entire series this far.
Is there anything that Definitely Human doesn't do well? Nope.
