I have a responsibility to sell value to people. I believe in what I sell and the key to my success is that I sell financial independence. I am supposed to help people find value, this is one of my responsibilities.

Welcome to Entrepreneur Sales School! My special guest today is Tyler Sheff.

Tyler Sheff currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at cashflowguys.com, a company which aims to educate their clientele in investing in real estate and building long-term wealth.

3 Key Points

  • I use some old fashioned skills, but the key is face-to-face. In today’s society though it’s so difficult to do that, but good thing is that we’ve got Skype, Zoom and other platforms. I learned that most people, by nature, are non-confrontational. If it’s a face-to-face scenario they’re nervous. When I realize that the guy I am facing is more nervous, I am no longer nervous. This helped me really focus on the fact that I am going to make this happen, I won’t back down unless I see that what I am giving is not really for them.
  • When we look at something that’s for sale, the first thing we have to think about is whether the owner is motivated to sell it. The first thing I am going to do is determine motivations. Motivations usually comes with problems and when the problem is a financial one, in my case, real estate tends to be the solution. So that’s when I offer them help. I give the options, I explain where we are and how to get there and I keep it ridiculously simple. The problem with sales people is that they complicate things. We should understand that when people don’t understand something, they fear it and when fear becomes an emotion in that conversation it’s over!
  • Investing comes down to relationships. It is a relationship business. Money is a by-product granted, it is a necessary ingredient, but it is not the end all, be all.
