Zaccheus would have been considered one of the most hated people in his time because he was a Jew who became a chief tax collector. He was viewed this way because he was working for the enemy and taking money from his own people. But when Jesus set aside time just to be with him when no one else would it changed him. That little gesture brought about repentance. That’s the exact thing that we as disciples should be doing. We should be reaching out to those who have been rejected.
