Like a lot of people, I've been thinking a lot about Mr. Rogers and his legacy lately. For me, that started early last year when I read Tom Junod's 1998 Esquire profile of Mr. Rogers, and then really took off that summer when I saw the documentary Won't You Be My Neighbor? This show makes a great companion piece to that documentary, I think. It covers some of the same events and ideas that the film did, but it goes beyond that with new interviews and conversations that try to get at not just why Mr. Rogers was important to us, but how we can take his ideas and use them now, as adults living in the world today. Listening to this show, I find myself inspired to be a better and kinder person, and to do more to help take care of this world and the people in it.
