The Lord expects us to think about the future, to make plans, and to let ourselves be inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit. In Proverbs 16:9, it says: “A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Thus, as we make our plans, we must lay them in the Lord’s hand and allow Him to direct them, according to His will.

We find numerous examples of how the Lord changes the plans of His people in Scripture. Among them is Apostle Paul, whose plans of persecuting Christians were interrupted by Christ Himself, who showed him that he was going in the wrong direction, and thus changed his plans completely. In that sense, the Lord changed the plans of all His disciples. Jesus invited them into something new, and they decided to follow Him, which meant even leaving behind their professions.

Another example is the rich young man, who asks Jesus what else he can do to have eternal life besides obeying the commandments. Jesus then tells him to sell his possessions and give to the poor. Disheartened by the answer, the rich man went away sorrowful. There was this sorrow and grief, as maybe his plan was just to accumulate more and more.

In all of these instances, we can see that the Lord was trying to align their plans to His plan, which is to bring all people to salvation. We too can find comfort in this fact. Because "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" (Hebrews 13:8), we are secure in Him. Despite all the changes in plans that may currently exist worldwide, we can be solid on the rock of Christ and recognize that He is with us, and that salvation is still offered, which is ultimately what we are striving for.

El Señor espera que pensemos en el futuro, hagamos planes y nos dejemos inspirar y guiar por el Espíritu Santo. En Proverbios 16:9, dice: «El corazón del hombre piensa su camino; mas Jehová endereza sus pasos». Por lo tanto, al hacer nuestros planes, debemos ponerlos en la mano del Señor y permitirle que los dirija, de acuerdo con Su voluntad.

Encontramos numerosos ejemplos de cómo el Señor cambia los planes de Su pueblo en las Escrituras. Entre ellos se encuentra el apóstol Pablo, cuyos planes de perseguir a los cristianos fueron interrumpidos por Cristo mismo, quien le mostró que iba en la dirección equivocada y, por lo tanto, cambió sus planes por completo. En ese sentido, el Señor cambió los planes de todos Sus discípulos. Jesús los invitó a algo nuevo y decidieron seguirlo, lo que significó incluso dejar atrás sus ocupaciones.

Otro ejemplo es el joven rico, que le pregunta a Jesús qué más puede hacer para tener vida eterna además de obedecer los mandamientos. Entonces Jesús le dice que venda sus posesiones y se las dé a los pobres. Desanimado por la respuesta, el joven rico se fue triste. Hubo este dolor, ya que tal vez su plan era solo acumular más y más.

En todos estos casos, podemos ver que el Señor estaba tratando de alinear sus planes con Su plan, que es llevar a todas las personas a la salvación. Nosotros también podemos encontrar consuelo en este hecho. Debido a que «Jesucristo es el mismo ayer, hoy y siempre» (Hebreos 13:8 NTV), estamos seguros en Él. A pesar de todos los cambios en los planes que pueden existir actualmente en todo el mundo, podemos estar firmes sobre la roca de Cristo y reconocer que Él está con nosotros y que la salvación todavía se ofrece, que es, en última instancia, aquello por lo que estamos luchando.
