Mordecai was the fourth generation of his family to be living in exile. His circumstances were not of his choosing, but he accepted the reality of his situation. Even when given the opportunity to remain silent about an assassination attempt on King Xerxes life – the very king who was keeping him and his fellow Jews in exile – Mordecai passed along word of the assassination attempt and thus saved Xerxes’ life.
Instead of taking the Jews’ plight into his own hands by doing wrong, Mordecai chose to do the right thing and leave the future of the Jews in God’s hands. God had sent them into exile and God would bring them back; all in God’s own time and through God’s own plan.
Join us as we learn to be responsive to God’s plan instead of being reactive to our circumstances.
