The first episode in the series is a conversation between siblings. Lottie chats to her older brother George, a doctor working in the Intensive Care Unit of a central London hospital. They discuss what the unit looks like at this time, what PPE they have available, how he and other members of the team are coping with the high mortality rate, and what morale is like at this time.

This episode was recorded on the 18th April, after George had been on a week of night shifts, and after it had just been announced, after three and a half weeks in 'lockdown', that the UK would remain under the same restrictions for at least a further three weeks.
