In this episode of Half Size Me, Heather talks to Cherry abouthow she learned to focus on maintenance and not just weight losswhat she's not willing to give up on her journey to her goal weighthow she started eating more, but also lost weight at the same timeand much more!About Cherry: "My name is Cherry.  I am 41 years old.  I have dealt with weight issues for 20 years now.  I always thought I was overweight as a child/teen, but looking back at pictures I realize that I was not.  Height has always been on my side and I carry my weight well.  After the birth of my first child 20 years ago, my weight became an issue.  I never lost the weight from that pregnancy and continued to gain through 2 more pregnancies (including a twin pregnancy).  I have tried Weight Watchers countless times.  I would lose 30-40 pounds and give up.  I realize now that I had a fear of success and also was dealing with food addictions, which I really could not see then.  I decided I was destined to be overweight. However, in July of 2013, I walked into Weight Watchers for the last time. I was weighing 291 pounds.  I felt horrible.  Walking was a struggle for me.  My legs would go numb in the evenings when I was sitting in the recliner watching TV.  I could barely move.  I was miserable!  It was while I was driving a long distance with my kids and had a sugar low from all of the junk I had eaten that I decided this lifestyle had to change; otherwise, my kids would not have a mother.  I should not have been driving while I was feeling that way.  I really thought I was going to pass out which was causing me to have a panic attack.  The following Thursday I went to my meeting.  I have lost 77 pounds as of today (10 months later) and I feel like a totally new person!  I started the C25K app two months ago and will run my 5K on Memorial Day.  I have really enjoyed the challenge of running as it has always been a secret dream of mine!  I still have about 28 pounds to lose to get to my goal but I am ready to rock it!"To read more about Cherry click here.
