1. Start from a place of service and giving
2. Encourage
3. Empathize
4. Ask your audience how they are doing
5. Don’t be afraid to talk about your business and your mission - after all, your audience follows you because they love your personality and WHAT YOU DO (as well as why you do it!) And, you need to make it through this crisis yourself - you need your business to survive so that you can continue to support (or help support) your family!
6. But don’t go on business as usual just ignoring the crisis - a global crisis affects us all and should affect our business communication. How?
7. Create free offers and core content that supports those affected by the crisis. (My podcast as an example. Accounts that have free resources for moms entertaining all their kids at home all the time.)
8. Consider creating a special offer or package, or offering a discount or special bonus, that will REALLY help your audience at this time. Something that they need more than anything else right now. (If you are a professional organizer, maybe do a mini-launch for one of your organizing courses and put it at a special price. Make sure the course is geared towards organizing a playroom, or creating a sane workspace in the midst of your kid’s space.) (
9. Then when you do talk about your business, make sure you only talk about the product or service that will really help your audience at this time. Think: things to bring peace out of chaos, easy and inexpensive self-care help, child entertainment, easy child education, ways to help your audience grow their business, something special for your audience to create that will get their mind off their present circumstances...
10. And above all, do everything from a space of love! Love for your audience. Genuine concern for their wellbeing and their mental wellness. Give all the love you can give! Share, support - show you care!
